Clinical and dermoscopic variation of basal cell carcinoma according to age of onset and anatomic location: a multicenter, retrospective study.

Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is rare in young individuals and reported to possess different pathogenetic, clinical and histological features from late-onset BCC. However, the dermoscopic variability of BCC according to age of onset has not been investigated. Anatomic location was revealed to be associated with dermoscopic variation of BCC in Western population, but whether it applies to Asian population remains unknown.

Predicting Severe Renal and Gastrointestinal Involvement in Childhood Immunoglobulin A Vasculitis with Routine Laboratory Parameters.

Background: Immunoglobulin A vasculitis (IgAV) is the most common vasculitis in children. Although childhood IgAV is generally considered as a self-limited disease, progressive course and poor prognosis could occur in some cases which mostly result from severe renal involvement and gastrointestinal (GI) involvement.

Methods: We performed a retrospective study of pediatric patients diagnosed as IgAV in our institution from 2016 to 2019.

Correlations of Serological Markers with Development of Systemic Involvement in Adult Immunoglobulin A Vasculitis: A Retrospective Study of 259 Patients in Central China.

Objective: Although relatively rare, adult immunoglobulin A vasculitis (IgAV) can lead to severe complications and longer hospitalization, and result in poor prognosis, when compared to childhood IgAV. Hence, early identification and prevention for patients prone to develop systemic involvement are essential. The purpose of this study was to explore the correlations of common serological markers with the development of systemic involvement in adult IgAV.

The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2), outbreak from Wuhan City, Hubei province, China in 2019 has become an ongoing global health emergency. The emerging virus, SARS-CoV-2, causes coughing, fever, muscle ache, and shortness of breath or dyspnea in symptomatic patients. The pathogenic particles that are generated by coughing and sneezing remain suspended in the air or attach to a surface to facilitate transmission in an aerosol form.
