Prostate cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer deaths among men, many miRNAs have been demonstrated to play critical role in the progression of prostate cancer, miR-186 suppresses the progression of many tumors, such as bladder cancer and glioma. Previous study shows miR-186 is downregulated in prostate cancer tissues, and is a good prognosis for prostate cancer patients. In this study, we found miR-186 was downregulated in prostate cancer cells and tissues, overexpression of miR-186 inhibited cell proliferation and tumorigenesis in vitro determined by MTT assay, colony formation assay and soft agar growth assay, whereas knockdown of miR-186 reduced these effects.

Objective: To evaluate the immunophenotype conversion of fibroblasts and its clinical significance in the process of breast tumor stromal remodeling.
Methods: CD34, FAP-α, p63 and a-SMA were detected by immunohistochemistry in 273 breast biopsies, including 60 normal breast tissues, 46 atypical ductal hyperplasia (ADH), 60 ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), 47 DCIS microinvasive carcinoma (DCIS-MI) and 60 invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC).
Results: The positive expression rates of CD34, FAP-α and α-SMA in the stromal fibroblasts of normal breast tissues were 93.
Background: To investigate the clinicopathological characteristics of respiratory epithelial adenomatoid hamartoma (REAH) in residents of Southern China and to study the correlation between REAH and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV).
Methods: Clinicopathological data of 53 cases of REAH were retrospectively analyzed. The immunoreactivity for CK 7, CK20, CEA, p53, and Ki-67, Alcian blue-periodic acid-Schiff (AB-PAS) staining and in situ hybridization for EBV-encoded RNA (EBER) were carried out.
Background: To investigate the expression of Golgi phosphoprotein-3 (GOLPH3) in prostate cancer and determine its prognostic value.
Methods: Immunohistochemical staining for GOLPH3 was performed on tissue microarrays of 342 prostate patients. The correlation between GOLPH3 expression with its clinicopathologic factors was also analyzed in order to determine its prognostic significance.
Background: Diagnosis of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) in breast cancer cases is challenging for pathologist due to a variety of in situ patterns and artefacts, which could be misinterpreted as stromal invasion. Microinvasion is detected by the presence of cytologically malignant cells outside the confines of the basement membrane and myoepithelium. When malignant cells invade the stroma, there is tissue remodeling induced by perturbed stromal-epithelial interactions.
