Aqueous battery has been gained much more interest for large-scale energy storage fields due to its excellent safety, high power density and low cost. Cryptomelane-type KMnO confirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) was successfully synthesized by a modified hydrothermal method, followed by annealed at 400°C for 3 h. The morphology and microstructure of as-prepared KMnO investigated by field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) with the energy spectrum analysis (EDS) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) demonstrate that one-dimensional nano rods with the length of about 500 nm constitute the microspheres with the diameter about 0.

A three dimensional (3D) Al2O3 coating layer was synthesized by a facile approach including stripping and in situ self-assembly of γ-AlOOH. The uniform flower-like Al2O3 nanosheets with high specific area largely sequesters acidic species produced by side reaction between electrode and electrolyte. The inner coating layer wrapping spinel LiMn2O4 effectively inhibits the dissolution of Mn by suppressing directive contact with electrolyte to enhance cycling stability.

A novel Gram-stain-positive, motile, catalase- and oxidase-positive, endospore-forming, facultatively anaerobic rod, designated strain JSM 100118(T), was isolated from an oyster (Crassostrea hongkongensis) collected from the tidal flat of Naozhou Island in the South China Sea. Strain JSM 100118(T) was able to grow with 0-13% (w/v) NaCl (optimum 2-5%), at pH 5.5-10.
