The purpose of the study was to assess measles incidence in the cohort of schoolchildren and vaccination effectiveness. Subjects under study covered 1005 children in the aged of 11 years, who were covered by the prospective epidemiological study in Krakow. The results of the study have demonstrated that 78% of children received full vaccination, 18% underwent incompleted vaccination, while only 4% did not receive any vaccination against measles.

Cross sectional study was carried out in 1997 among 992 schoolchildren attending the fourth form of elementary schools in Krakow. In the course of the study the epidemiologic interviews on respiratory health of children and spirometric testing were performed.
