We propose and design a multi-stage cascaded scanning laser ophthalmoscope (SLO) for ultra-wide field (UWF), which uses conicoid mirrors, constructed by conjugation of pupil plane. The vergence uniformity and the angular magnification of a cascaded conicoid mirrors (CCM) system are analyzed recursively and optimized preliminarily to achieve high quality imaging with UWF, and the optimal system with the model eye are obtained by simulation and optimization. Two-stage and three-stage cascaded systems are designed with this method, and the formulas of beam vergence and angular magnification are obtained by theoretical derivation.

This study aims to compare the effect of PBL and lecture-based learning (LBL) on student course examination results for introductory Chinese undergraduate medical courses.
Methods: Randomized and nonrandomized controlled trial studies on PBL use in Chinese undergraduate medical education were retrieved through PubMed, the Excerpta Medica Database (EMBASE), Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) and VIP China Science and Technology Journal Database (VIP-CSTJ) with publication dates from 1st January 1966 till 31 August 2014.
Objective: To assess the prevalence of HIV among men who have sex with men (MSM) in Chongqing, China from 2006 to 2009.
Methods: The authors used a snowball sampling method to perform a 3-month cross-sectional study each year from 2006 to 2009. Every participant was asked to complete a questionnaire about demographic and behavioural characteristics, and blood samples were taken for antibody testing for HIV and syphilis.
Background: Analysis of interactions between genes and the environment with complex multifactorial human disease faces important challenges. Limitations of parametric-statistical methods for detection of gene effects that are dependent solely or partially on interactions with other genes or environmental exposures are key problems. The aim of the study was to investigate the use of multifactor dimensionality reduction (MDR) and logistic regression models to analyze the effects of interactions between complex disease genes with other genes and with environmental factors and to compare the results of these two methods in interaction analysis.
