Social anxiety, loneliness, and mobile phone addiction among nursing students: latent profile and moderated mediation analyses.

Background: The overutilization of mobile devices by nursing students has been found to adversely affect their physical and cognitive health, potentially impeding the cultivation of a proficient nursing workforce. Previous research has identified social anxiety and loneliness as influential contributors to mobile phone addiction, but the relationship between these three factors has not been extensively examined. The objective of this research was to investigate the role of loneliness in mediating the relationship between social anxiety and mobile phone addiction, as well as the moderating influence of sleep duration on the relationship between social anxiety, loneliness, and mobile phone addiction among nursing students.

Navigating specific targets of breast cancer symptoms: An innovative computer-simulated intervention analysis.

Background: The health as expanding consciousness (HEC) theory posits that health and disease are interconnected components of a comprehensive process aimed at expanding consciousness.

Aim: The objective of this study is to introduce the concept, research status and applications of HEC and offer a comprehensive understanding of its various key components.

Data Sources: Databases including EMBASE, PubMed, ScienceDirect, ProQuest, Wiley, Web of Science, Sinomed, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang, and CQVIP, covering the period from 1986 to 2023.

Body image, self-efficacy, and sleep quality among patients with breast cancer: A latent profile and mediation analysis.

Purpose: As a sign of femininity, impaired breast after surgery causes particularly confusion for patients with breast cancer resulting in increased body image distress, which has negative impacts on sleep quality. And self-efficacy enables patients to use positive and effective coping strategies to maintain a favorable night's sleep. Therefore, our study is to explore the heterogeneity in body image experienced by patients with breast cancer and to examine the mediation effects of self-efficacy between body image and sleep quality.

Association between non-restorative sleep and psychotic-like experiences among Chinese college students: A latent profile and moderated mediation analysis.

Background: Non-restorative sleep (NRS) is a core symptom of insomnia that has considerable consequences for daily life. However, the association between NRS and psychotic-like experiences (PLEs) remains unclear. The current study was designed to explore the relationship between NRS and PLEs as well as the mediation/moderation role of rumination and resilience among college students in China.

Validation of the Barthel Index in Chinese nursing home residents: an item response theory analysis.

Background: The Barthel Index (BI) is used to standardize the grading of assessments for clinical needs, insurance support, and long-term care resource allocation in China. However, its psychometric properties among nursing home residents remain unclear. Therefore, this study aims to assess and modify the psychometric properties of BI in nursing home residents.

Sentinel and networked symptoms in patients with breast cancer undergoing chemotherapy.

Purpose: It was designed to identify the symptom clusters and sentinel symptoms among patients with breast cancer receiving chemotherapy at the community level, and to explore core and bridge symptoms at the global level.

The interplay between stigma and sleep quality in breast cancer: A cross-sectional network analysis.

Purpose: Stigma, a subjective internal shame, arises from the association of cancer with death. Sleep quality can be considered a product of stigma. However, the extent of overlap or difference between the two remains unclear.

Fear of childbirth and sleep quality among pregnant women: a generalized additive model and moderated mediation analysis.

Objectives: This study aims to examine the associations among fear of childbirth, psychological distress, resilience, and sleep quality among Chinese pregnant women.

Methods: A cross-sectional survey was carried out between January 2022 to March 2022 among pregnant women who met the inclusion criteria and sought healthcare services at The First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine in Guangdong Province, Southern China. Data was collected using a structured questionnaire that included sociodemographic characteristics, childbirth attitudes questionnaires (CAQ), hospital anxiety and depression scale (HADS), Connor-Davidson resilience scale (CD-RISC), and Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI).

Purpose: This study aims to identify the heterogeneity in the stigma experienced by patients with breast cancer and examine the mediation effect of resilience on the relation between stigma and sleep quality.

Method: A total of 396 patients with breast cancer were enrolled from Be Resilient to Breast Cancer (BRBC) program between January and April 2023. Participants completed the Social Impact Scale, the 10-item Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale, and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index Scale.

Development and validation of a nomogram model for medication non-adherence in patients with chronic kidney disease.

Objective: Little is known about the measurement invariance (MI) of resilience instruments in cancer care. This study was designed to examine MI of 10-Item Resilience Scale (RS-SC-10) in Americans and Chinese with cancer using propensity score-based multidimensional item response theory (MIRT) analysis.

Methods: A sample of 924 patients were enrolled in the Be Resilient to Cancer trial involving 1 hospital in America and 3 hospitals in China.

Associations among fear of childbirth, resilience and psychological distress in pregnant women: A response surface analysis and moderated mediation model.

Introduction: Prenatal psychological distress is prevalent during pregnancy. This study aimed to estimate the associations among fear of childbirth, resilience and psychological distress.

Methods: A total of 1,060 Chinese pregnant women were enrolled from Be Resilient to Postpartum Depression (ChiCTR2100048465) and the following instruments were administered to them: Childbirth Attitudes Questionnaire, Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale, Perceived Social Support Scale, General Self-Efficacy Scale, Adverse Childhood Experience scale and Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale.

Stress/Resource Complex, Sense of Coherence and Professional Identity Among Nursing Students: A Latent Profile and Mediation Analysis.

Purpose: Sense of coherence is significant to mental health and professional development in nursing students. However, the association among stress/resource complex, sense of coherence, and professional identity is less explored in nursing students. This study was designed to identify latent subtypes of stress/resource complex and to evaluate the mediating role of sense of coherence between stress/resource complex types and professional identity in nursing students.

Alterations in the gut microbiota and metabolite profiles in the context of neuropathic pain.

The aim of this study was to explore the relationships among gut microbiota disturbances and serum and spinal cord metabolic disorders in neuropathic pain. 16S rDNA amplicon sequencing and serum and spinal cord metabolomics were used to identify alterations in the microbiota and metabolite profiles in the sham rats and the chronic constriction injury (CCI) model rats. Correlations between the abundances of gut microbiota components at the genus level, the levels of serum metabolites, and pain-related behavioural parameters were analysed.

Molecular subtypes based on DNA methylation predict prognosis in lung squamous cell carcinoma.

Background: Due to tumor heterogeneity, the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of patients with lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC) are difficult. DNA methylation is an important regulator of gene expression, which may help the diagnosis and therapy of patients with LUSC.

Methods: In this study, we collected the clinical information of LUSC patients in the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database and the relevant methylated sequences of the University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC) database to construct methylated subtypes and performed prognostic analysis.
