Background: Dyslipidemia presents in various autoimmune diseases, and the serum lipid profile in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) has not yet been clearly defined. This study aims to evaluate the level of serum lipids in patients with SLE.

Methods: A case-control study evaluated four conventional sera lipids-total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), high-density lipoprotein (HDL), and low-density lipoprotein (LDL)-in patients with SLE compared to healthy controls (HCs).

Here, we generated two humanized anti-B7H3 × 4-1BB bsAbs (HK056-001/002) by fusing an anti-4-1BB scFv to the C-terminus of an anti-B7H3 with an intact Fc fragment from human IgG1 or IgG4. The two bsAbs were able to stimulate the 4-1BB signaling pathway, which was strictly dependent on B7H3 expression.

Oral cancer is a highly malignant disease characterized by recurrence, metastasis, and poor prognosis. Autophagy, a catabolic process induced under stress conditions, has been shown to play a dual role in oral cancer development and therapy. Recent studies have identified that autophagy activation in oral epithelial cells suppresses cancer cell survival by inhibiting key pathways such as the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) and mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK), while activating the adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK) pathway.

Human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (UCMSCs) are a novel stem-cell source to treat osteoarthritis (OA). Here we investigated the therapeutic effects of UCMSCs injection strategies on knee OA in a rabbit model. Thirty OA rabbits randomly received normal saline, a single dose of 1 × 10 UCMSCs, or three injections of 1 × 10 UCMSCs at 2, 4, 6 weeks.

Iron-sulfur clusters are inorganic cofactors found in many proteins involved in fundamental biological processes. The prokaryotic DNA repair photolyase PhrB carries a four-iron-four-sulfur cluster ([4Fe4S]) in addition to the catalytic flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) and a second cofactor ribolumazine. Our recent study suggested that the [4Fe4S] cluster functions as an electron cache to coordinate two interdependent photoreactions of the FAD and ribolumazine.

However, the precise regulation of antiviral innate immunity and the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Here, we find that sirtuin3 (SIRT3) interacts with mitochondrial antiviral signaling protein (MAVS) to catalyze MAVS deacetylation at lysine residue 7 (K7), which promotes MAVS aggregation, as well as TANK-binding kinase I and IRF3 phosphorylation, resulting in increased MAVS activation and enhanced type I interferon signaling.

Background: Dental caries in young children is a difficult global oral health problem. In the last decade, China has put a great deal of effort into reducing the prevalence of dental caries. This study, which is part of the China Population Chronic Disease and Nutrition Surveillance 2021, aimed to investigate the prevalence of dental caries among children aged 5 in Shanghai, China, and its associated factors.

Nonribosomal peptide synthetases (NRPSs) are large multidomain enzymes for the synthesis of a variety of bioactive peptides in a modular and pipelined fashion. Here, we investigated how the condensation (C) domain and the adenylation (A) domain cooperate with each other for the efficient catalytic activity in microcystin NRPS modules. We solved two crystal structures of the microcystin NRPS modules, representing two different conformations in the NRPS catalytic cycle.
