Material with special wettability for oil/water separation has drawn more and more attention, since the oil spill accidents and industrial processing are growing in frequency and in volume. A superhydrophilic and underwater superoleophobic mesh was prepared by introducing CoO on a stainless steel mesh, through a simple hydrothermal process and subsequent calcination. The as-prepared CoO mesh can not only separate various oil/water mixtures with high efficiency and high flux, but also work effectively in harsh environment such as highly acidic, alkaline, and salty solutions.

Fortunately, the nearest ion capacitors, such as lithium-ion and sodium-ion capacitors containing battery-type and capacitor-type electrodes, may allow achieving both high energy and power densities. For the inspiration, a new zinc-ion capacitor (ZIC) has been designed and realized by assembling the free-standing manganese dioxide-carbon nanotubes (MnO-CNTs) battery-type cathode and MXene (TiCT) capacitor-type anode in an aqueous electrolyte.

In this study, we explored the clinical efficacy of super-early initiation of temozolomide (TMZ) in the treatment interval from surgery to radiotherapy.
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the clinical data of 375 patients with GBM in our institution from 2012 to 2018.
The structural parameters, Raman/IR spectra, and vibrational and thermodynamic properties of α-RDX and γ-RDX were investigated by performing first-principles calculations using the CASTEP program. The obtained structural parameters and vibrational frequencies of the internal modes of α-RDX are consistent with previous results. The vibrational bands of γ-RDX in the region 300-3113 cm were assigned to vibrational modes for the first time.

Using ultra high performance liquid chromatography quadrupole/time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC-QTOFMS) based metabolomics, we focused on developing a method for the comprehensive distinction between Citri Reticulatae Blanco Pericarpium(CRBP) and Citri Reticulatae Chachi Pericarpium (CRCP), as well as the CRCP within different storage years in this study. Through this, we hope to enhance Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (CRP) Quality Control system. Using UNIFI software and an online database identified chemical components in the 3-30 years CRCP(40 batches) and CRBP (10 batches)samples, and multivariate statistical analysis methods and heat-map were applied to distinguish between CRCP and CRBP and CRCP in different storage years.

In this study, reverse transcriptional PCR (RT-PCR), cDNA high throughput sequencing and transcriptional activity analysis were conducted to investigate active microbial community with nitrogen and phosphorus removal from municipal wastewater. RT-PCR and correlation heatmap analysis suggested that transcriptional activities of bacteria had strong correlation with performance of nitrogen and phosphorus removal, they might be therefore regarded as an indicator for wastewater treatment monitoring.

A bamboo shoot is the immature stem of the woody grass and a nutritious and popular vegetable in East Asia. However, it undergoes a rapid xylogenesis process right after harvest, even being stored in a cold chamber. To investigate the molecular regulation mechanisms of xylogenesis in Moso bamboo () shoots (MBSes) during cold storage, the measurement of cell wall polymers (cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin) and related enzyme activities (phenylalanine ammonia lyase (PAL), cinnamyl alcohol dehydrogenase (CAD), peroxidase (POD), and xylan xylosyltransferase (XylT)) and transcriptomic analysis were performed during cold storage.

() is a kind of opportunistic pathogen of the upper respiratory tract of piglets. Under certain circumstances, virulent strains can breach the mucosal barrier and enter the bloodstream, causing severe Glässer's disease. Many virulence factors are found to be related to the pathogenicity of strain, but the pathogenic mechanism remains unclear.

A novel pretreatment approach combined freeze with microwave was developed to promote the release of orthophosphate from excess sludge, and the phosphorus (P) was recovered from the produced supernatant by phosphate sedimentation. Batch tests examined the effects of freezing time, pH, and microwave time on the release of phosphate (PO-P) of the excess sludge during the freezing-microwave pretreatment. The release amount of PO-P reached 276 mg/L under the conditions of the freezing time of 23 h, microwave time of 5 min, and pH of 4.

" Accumulibacter" is the dominant polyphosphate-accumulating organism (PAO) in denitrifying phosphorus removal (DPR) systems. In order to investigate the community structure and clade morphotypes of " Accumulibacter" in DPR systems through flow cytometry (FCM), denitrifying phosphorus removal of almost 100% using nitrite and nitrate as the electron acceptor was achieved in sequencing batch reactors (SBRs). An optimal method of flow cytometry combined with fluorescence hybridization and SYBR green I staining (FISH-staining-flow cytometry) was developed to quantify PAOs in DPR systems.
