The development of efficient immobilization support for the enhancement of enzyme activity and recyclability is a highly desirable objective. Single-crystalline ordered macro-microporous ZIF-8 (SOM-ZIF-8), has emerged as a highly effective matrix for enzyme immobilization, however, the inherent hydrophobic nature limits its further advancement. Herein, we have customized the immobilization of the Pseudomonas cepacia lipase (LP) in the modification-channels of SOM-ZIF-8 by functionalizing the inner surface-properties with polyethylene glycol (PEG) (LP@SOM-ZIF-8-PEG), and significant enhancement of the activity and (thermal, solvent and cyclic) stability can be realized.

Neuroinflammation triggered by activated microglia leads to neuronal damage and, to a certain extent, neurodegeneration. Human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSCs) have good immunomodulatory and neuroprotective effects as well as therapeutic potential for neuroinflammation-related diseases. However, the complex microenvironment created by neuroinflammation poses a challenge to transplanted UC-MSCs.

Previous studies have shown that the flower microbiota undergoes dynamic assembly processes during anthesis. However, the influence of foraging pollinators on the assembly and dispersal of the flower microbiota and the transmission of plant pathogens remains poorly understood.

Operando X-ray and electron microscopy enable the evaluation of concentration, phase, and stress heterogeneities in electrode architectures. Phase-field models are commonly used to capture multi-physics coupling including the interplay between electrochemistry and mechanics.

Adult stem cell efficacies are primarily dependent on the paracrine secretion of mitochondria-containing extracellular vesicles (EVs). However, effective therapeutic strategies addressing the quantity of mitochondria and mitochondria-delivery system are lacking.

Despite its importance, the fungal factors that regulate the virulence of this pathogen remain largely unknown. In our previous study, mapping of an insertional mutant defect in virulence resulted in the identification of a cutinase G-box binding protein gene, designated that encodes a C2H2-type transcription factor (TF).

For better RBC generation from hPSCs, we compared the cell seeding density in the embryoid body formation-based hPSC induction protocol. In the selection of low- and high-density inoculation conditions, we found that low-density culture performed better in the final RBC product with more cell output and increased average cellular hemoglobin content.

The results indicated that fertilization methods and types can have significant impacts on the diversity and structure of rhizospheric microorganisms in wheat. The application method produced more significant effects than the fertilizer type.

Previously, we showed that the co-inoculation of two bacterial strains, members of the genera and isolated from apple flowers, reduced disease incidence caused by this floral pathogen.

Precise inhibition of these key proteases in ACE2 lung cells during a viral infection cycle shall prevent viral Spike (S) protein activation and its fusion with a host cell membrane, consequently averting virus entry to the cells. In this study, dual-drug-combined (TMPRSS2 inhibitor Camostat and CTSL inhibitor E-64d) nanocarriers (NCs) are constructed conjugated with an anti-human ACE2 (hACE2) antibody and employ Red Blood Cell (RBC)-hitchhiking, termed "Nanoengineered RBCs," for targeting lung cells.

However, this may also restrain the enzyme activity because of the decreased substrate accessibility. Encapsulation of lipase AK from Pseudomonas fluorescens for preparing the enzyme-MOF composite (AK@ZIF-8-PEI) was performed through a new strategy based on polyethyleneimine and enzyme induced in-situ growth of zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8).
