We present herein an innovative host-guest method to achieve induced molecular chirality from an achiral stilbazolium dye (DSM). The host-guest system is exquisitely designed by encapsulating the dye molecule in the molecule-sized chiral channel of homochiral lanthanide metal-organic frameworks (-(+)/-(-)-TbBTC), in which the - or -configuration of the dye is unidirectionally generated a spatial confinement effect of the MOF and solidified by the dangling water molecules in the channel. Induced chirality of DSM is characterized by solid-state circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) and micro-area polarized emission of DSM@TbTBC, both excited with 514 nm light.

The hypoxic microenvironment was recognized as a major driving force of the malignant phenotype in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), which contributes to tumour immune microenvironment (TIM) remodeling and tumor progression. Dysregulated hypoxia-related genes (HRGs) result in treatment resistance and poor prognosis by reshaping tumor cellular activities and metabolism. Approaches to identify the relationship between hypoxia and tumor progression provided new sight for improving tumor treatment and prognosis.

Coronary stents are deployed to treat the coronary artery disease (CAD) by reopening stenotic regions in arteries to restore blood flow, but the risk of the in-stent restenosis (ISR) is high after stent implantation. One of the reasons is that stent implantation induces changes in local hemodynamic environment, so it is of vital importance to study the blood flow in stented arteries. Based on regarding the red blood cell (RBC) as a rigid solid particle and regarding the blood (including RBCs and plasma) as particle suspensions, a non-Newtonian particle suspensions model is proposed to simulate the realistic blood flow in this work.

Mycotoxin contamination is an ongoing and growing issue that can create health risks and even cause death. Unfortunately, there is currently a lack of specific therapy against mycotoxins with few side effects. On the other hand, the strategic expression of CXCL17 in mucosal tissues suggests that it may be involved in immune response when exposed to mycotoxins, but the exact role of CXCL17 remains largely unknown.

Enzyme-mediated damage repair or mitigation, while common for nucleic acids, is rare for proteins. Examples of protein damage are elimination of phosphorylated Ser/Thr to dehydroalanine/dehydrobutyrine (Dha/Dhb) in pathogenesis and aging. Bacterial LanC enzymes use Dha/Dhb to form carbon-sulfur linkages in antimicrobial peptides, but the functions of eukaryotic LanC-like (LanCL) counterparts are unknown.

The accessible emission spectral range of lead halide perovskite (LHP) CsPbX3 (X = Cl, Br, I) nanocrystals (NCs) has remained so far limited to wavelengths below 1 μm, corresponding to the emission line of Yb3+, whereas the direct sensitization of other near-infrared (NIR) emitting lanthanide ions is unviable. Herein, we present a general strategy to enable intense NIR emission from Er3+ at ∼1.5 μm, Ho3+ at ∼1.

Ferroelectric topological objects provide a fertile ground for exploring emerging physical properties that could potentially be utilized in future nanoelectronic devices. Here, we demonstrate quasi-one-dimensional metallic high conduction channels associated with the topological cores of quadrant vortex domain and center domain (monopole-like) states confined in high quality BiFeO nanoislands, abbreviated as the vortex core and the center core. We unveil via the phase-field simulation that the superfine metallic conduction channels along the center cores arise from the screening charge carriers confined at the core region, whereas the high conductance of vortex cores results from a field-induced twisted state.
