MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are associated with amyloid-β (Aβ) dysmetabolism, a pivotal factor in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease (AD). This study unveiled a novel miRNA, microRNA-32533 (miR-32533), featuring a distinctive base sequence identified through RNA sequencing of the APPswe/PSEN1dE9 (APP/PS1) mouse brain. Its role and underlying mechanisms were subsequently explored.

Objective: Exosomes (Exos) from adipose derived stem cells (ADSCs) can delay skin photoaging, but their effects on reactive oxygen species (ROS) remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between adipose derived stem cell exosomes (ADSCs-Exos) in anti-photoaging of skin and glutathione (GSH)/ ROS expression in human fibroblasts.
Methods: A skin photoaging model was established by irradiating human fibroblasts with ultraviolet B (UVB) light in vitro.

We performed a retrospective study and reviewed gestational diabetic women who received an intramuscular dexamethasone injection (6 mg, every 12 hours, 4 times) in our hospital between December 2018 and June 2020. Eligible pregnant women were assigned to the study group (with simultaneous subcutaneous insulin detemir injection, 2-4 units per day) or the control group (without insulin detemir injection).

The T cell receptor (TCR) repertoire's role in SLE has garnered significant interest due to its potential in both diagnostics and therapeutics. Our study aimed to delineate the variances in the TCRβ repertoire between patients with SLE and healthy individuals, correlating these differences with the severity and subtypes of SLE.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA novel multilayer nanoflake structure of manganese oxide/graphene oxide (γ-MnO/GO) was fabricated a simple template-free chemical precipitation method, and the modified carbon felt (CF) electrode with γ-MnO/GO composite was used as an anode material for microbial fuel cells (MFCs). The characterization results revealed that the γ-MnO/GO composite has a novel multilayer nanoflake structure and offers a large specific surface area for bacterial adhesion. The electrochemical analyses demonstrated that the γ-MnO/GO composite exhibited excellent electrocatalytic activity and enhanced the electrochemical reaction rate and reduced the electron transfer resistance, consequently facilitating extracellular electron transfer (EET) between the anode and bacteria.

Objectives: To investigate the protective effects and underlying mechanisms of extract on motor dysfunction in mouse model of Parkinson's disease (PD).
Methods: Eighty C57BL/6 male mice were randomly divided into five groups: control group, PD model group, levodopa treatment group (positive control group), low-dose GP treatment group (LD-GP group), and high-dose GP treatment group (HD-GP group), with 16 mice per group. The PD model was induced by injection of 6-hydroxydopamine into the substantia nigra pars reticulata in mice of last 5 groups.
Cerebral aneurysms (CA) are a serious condition characterized by the bulging of a blood vessel in the brain, which can lead to rupture and life-threatening bleeding. The pathophysiology of CA involves complex processes, particularly inflammation and macrophage infiltration. Phoenixin-14 (PNX-14) is a neuropeptide with diverse biological effects, including roles in reproduction, energy homeostasis, and inflammation.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 257 children who underwent strabismus ambulatory surgery in our hospital from February 2022 to December 2023. The children were divided into a control group (n=149), which received routine nursing services and telephone follow-up, and an observation group (n=108), which received Internet Family Engagement Continuum of Care through a mobile medical platform.
Introduction: Esketamine has unique advantages in combination with dexmedetomidine for sedation in young children, owing to its sympathetic activity and mild respiratory depression. However, the optimal dose is yet to be determined. In this study, we compared the different doses of intranasal esketamine combined with dexmedetomidine for sedation during transthoracic echocardiography in toddlers.

Objective: We aimed to illustrate the mechanisms of resistance to trametinib in PDAC and identify trametinib resistance-associated druggable targets, thus improving the treatment efficacy of trametinib-resistant PDAC.
Background: Paired box 9 (PAX9) has been linked to several human disorders; however, its relevance in Head And Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma (HNSCC) remains unknown.
Methods: The difference in PAX9 mRNA expression in pan-cancer was analyzed utilizing The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), and the level of PAX9 protein expression across various types of cancer was assessed utilizing the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) and UALCAN databases, as well as the cellular localization of PAX9. UALCAN studied the methylation levels of PAX9 in pan-cancer.
The high-temperature proton exchange membranes suffer from weak binding strength for phosphoric acid molecules, which seriously reduce the fuel cell efficiency, especially operation stability. Introduction of microporous material in the membrane can effectively reduce the leaching of phosphoric acid. However, due to the poor compatibility between the polymer and fillers, the membrane's performance significantly reduced at high fillers content.

The aim of dynamic prediction is to provide individualized risk predictions over time, which are updated as new data become available. In pursuit of constructing a dynamic prediction model for a progressive eye disorder, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), we propose a time-dependent Cox survival neural network (tdCoxSNN) to predict its progression using longitudinal fundus images. tdCoxSNN builds upon the time-dependent Cox model by utilizing a neural network to capture the nonlinear effect of time-dependent covariates on the survival outcome.
