Based on the Johnson-Cook constitutive model and modified Coulomb's law, the study investigates the impact of various process parameters on the weld temperature field in high-strength 5052 aluminum alloy friction stir welding (FSW) for aerospace applications. Utilizing a thermo-mechanical model, the significance of rotational speed, welding speed, and indentation on the peak weld temperature is examined through Taguchi's orthogonal experimental design. S/N ratio and ANOVA results show that the rotational speed has the most significant effect on the peak temperature of the weld, followed by the amount of indentation, and the welding speed has the smallest effect, the optimal combination of welding process parameters is determined as follows:the rotational speed is 1000 rpm, the amount of indentation is 0.

Here, a novel exchange-spring magnetic structure is introduced formed by the coupling of perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) CoTb and in-plane magnetic anisotropy (IMA) Co films. When a spin current with the polarization along the y-direction flows through this exchange-spring (x-z plane) structure, the interaction between the y-spin and the local exchange field with a non-collinear spatial distribution gives rise to substantial unconventional spin polarizations in the x- and z-directions, enabling field-free spin-orbit torque driven perpendicular magnetization switching at room temperature.

While exogenous calcium (Ca) has been shown to confer plant immune responses against thrips, the detailed mechanisms of this interaction remain to be elucidated for improved thrips management strategies. This study aimed to assess the impact of exogenous Ca on WFT feeding behavior and to explore its role in enhancing the defense mechanisms of kidney bean plants against WFT attacks.

Conventional treatment modalities, including surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy, have limited efficacy in certain advanced instances. The involvement of GALNT6-mediated aberrant O-glycosylation modification in several malignancies and immune evasion is a subject of speculation.

However, the weak ferroelectricity and many failure behaviors (such as irreversible lattice strains or defects) regulated by applied stimuli hinder their application. Here we systematically explore the interface electronic and transport properties of R-MoS-based van der Waals heterojunctions (vdWHJs) by first-principles calculations.

Background: The pathological damage mechanism of type 2 diabetes (T2D) and macroangiopathy is extremely complex, and T2D and arteriosclerosis obliterans have different biological behaviors and clinical features. To explore the mechanism of lower extremity arteriosclerosis occlusion (LEAOD) in T2D patients, we utilized RNA-seq to identify unique gene expression signatures of T2D and LEAOD through transcriptomic analysis.
Methods: We obtained blood samples and performed RNA sequencing from four patients with T2D, five of whom had LEAOD.
Photodetectors integrating substrates and semiconductor materials are increasingly attractive for applications in optical communication, optical sensing, optical computing, and military owing to the unique optoelectronic properties of semiconductor materials. However, it is still a challenge to realize high-performance photodetectors by only integrating substrates and semiconductor materials because of the limitation of incident light in contact with sensitive materials. In recent years, waveguides such as silicon (Si) and silicon nitride (SiN) have attracted extensive attention owing to their unique optical properties.

In this paper, the clamping bushing structure of the connecting mechanism of super-large tower crane is taken as the research object, a three-dimensional model of clamping bushing structure is established and imported into ABAQUS, and its multi-body contact model is further constructed to study the contact and bearing relationship of the structure under multiple working conditions, and the accuracy of the calculation results of the model is verified by the experimental stress test under tensile working conditions. In addition, this study is based on the control variable method, and through the design of orthogonal test table, the influence degree of five variable parameters of clamping bushing on the bearing capacity of the structure is investigated.

This study investigates a T-type field-free spin-orbit torque device with an in-plane magnetic layer coupled to a perpendicular magnetic layer via a non-magnetic spacer. The device utilizes a Co/Ta/CoTb structure, in which the in-plane Co layer and the perpendicular CoTb layer are ferromagnetically (FM) coupled through the Ta spacer. 'T-type' refers to the magnetization arrangement in the FM/spacer/FIM structure, where the magnetization in FM is in-plane, while in FIM, it is out-of-plane.
