Background: Depression is a symptom characterized by sadness, loss of interest or pleasure, feelings of guilt or low self-worth, disturbed sleep or appetite, feelings of tiredness and poor concentration. One of the most common mental illnesses in the world and a major contributor to morbidity and mortality is depression. Vesicovaginal fistula (VVF) in developing countries is mainly associated with obstructed labor, iatrogenic injury during cesarean delivery, and hysterectomy. However, formation of VVF after foreign body insertion into the vagina is an extremely rare phenomenon.
