Background: Limited data exist on the clinical outcomes of patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) presenting with ST-segment-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI).

Results: No significant differences were observed between the 2 groups regarding baseline characteristics.

Cis-diamminedichloroplatinum(II) is a frequently used and very effective chemotherapeutic drug for treatment of various malignancies; however, the trans isomer is clinically ineffective. Cis-platin exerts its antitumor activity by binding to DNA via intrastrand cross-links to d(GpG) (dG = deoxyguanosine) and to d(ApG) (dA = deoxyadenosine), interfering with DNA replication and transcription and causing cell death. The trans-diamminedichloroplatinum(II) isomer also binds DNA, but is clinically ineffective.
