The oesophagus can be a site for a variety of lesions including inflammatory disorders, infections, mechanical conditions, toxic and physical injuries, vascular disorders and neoplastic conditions. hence the oesophageal diseases have a wide spectrum of pathological features. An understanding of histopathological details of oesophageal diseases is essential for their accurate diagnosis and management.
