Background: Fibronectin glomerulopathy (FNG) is a rare autosomal dominant glomerulopathy that can lead to nephrotic syndrome. Here we report the case of an elderly patient diagnosed with FNG, exhibiting nephrotic-range proteinuria, with a 2-year follow-up.

Case Presentation: A 75-year-old Korean female visited the nephrology clinic after experiencing generalized edema for 2 months.

Because cancer is a leading cause of death and is thought to be caused by genetic errors or genomic instability in many circumstances, there have been studies exploring cancer's genetic basis using microarray and RNA-seq methods, linking gene expression data to patient survival. This research introduces a methodological framework, combining heterogeneous gene expression data, random forest selection, and pathway analysis, alongside clinical information and Cox regression analysis, to discover prognostic biomarkers. Heterogeneous gene expression data for colorectal cancer were collected from TCGA-COAD (RNA-seq), and GSE17536 and GSE39582 (microarray), and were integrated with Entrez Gene IDs.

Next-generation sequencing technology has improved molecular genetic analysis, and many molecular genetic studies have been utilized for diagnostic classification, risk stratification, and prognosis prediction of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Inactivation of neurofibromin or Nf1, a protein derived from the gene, causes Ras pathway regulation failure, which is related to leukemogenesis. Pathogenic variants of the gene in B-cell lineage ALL are uncommon, and in this study, we reported a pathogenic variant that is not registered in any public database.

Background: Studies have reported coinfection of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2), the cause of coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19), with other viruses that cause respiratory tract infections (RTIs). We investigated the coinfection rate of SARS-CoV-2 and other RTI-causing viruses, and whether the cycle threshold (Ct) value of a real-time reverse transcriptase PCR (RT-PCR) differed when the coinfection occurred during the first wave of COVID-19 in Daegu, Republic of Korea, in 2020.

Methods: After performing PCR for SARS-CoV-2, we additionally tested for the presence of RTI-causing viruses to check for coinfection.

Background: The indirect basophil activation test using flow cytometry is a promising tool for autoimmune urticaria diagnosis. We aimed to identify better donor basophils (from atopic vs. non-atopic donors and interleukin-3 primed vs.
