Osteoarthritis (OA) is a degenerative joint disease accompanied with the loss of cartilage and consequent nociceptive symptoms. Normal articular cartilage maintains at aneural state. Neuron guidance factor Semaphorin 3A (Sema3A) is a membrane-associated secreted protein with chemorepulsive properties for axons.

We aim to investigate whether the application efficacy of Asian screening array (ASA) in PGT-M preclinical workup for the Chinese population is superior to NGS based single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) panels.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis by reviewing 294 couples from a single center over the past 4 years and compared the detection results between NGS-based SNP panels and ASA.

Background: Guigan longmu decoction (GGLM), a traditional Chinese medicine compound, has demonstrated efficacy in treating rapid arrhythmia clinically. Nevertheless, its mechanism of action remains elusive. This study aims to elucidate the molecular mechanism underlying the efficacy of GGLM in treating arrhythmia utilizing non-targeted metabolomics, widely-targeted metabolomics, and network pharmacology, subsequently validated through animal experiments.

At the Heavy Ion Accelerator Facility in Lanzhou (HIRFL), beams with weak currents below 1 µA are often provided for experiments. The detection of such low beam current is below the threshold of typical standard beam current transformers.

In this article, a new coaxial-type notch filter with an amplitude equalizer in the long branch and an optical-type notch filter with phase-stabilized optical fiber are discussed and evaluated for the SRing stochastic cooling system. Both prototypes of coaxial and optical notch filters are fabricated and tested.

Objective: To investigate the effect of whole-process case management based on service process design on patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty (TKA) in areas including pain, function, satisfaction, and complications.
Methods: A total of 204 patients who underwent unilateral TKA between April 2021 and March 2022 at the Department of Orthopedics, West China Hospital, Sichuan University were enrolled. By using a random number table, the patients were randomly assigned to two groups, 102 in the general case management group (group G) and 102 in the whole-process case management group (group W).
Thalassemia is a group of common hereditary anemias that cause significant morbidity and mortality worldwide. However, precisely diagnosing thalassemia, especially rare thalassemia variants, is still challenging. Long-range PCR and long-molecule sequencing on the PacBio Sequel II platform utilized in this study could cover the entire HBA1, HBA2 and HBB genes, enabling the diagnosis of most of the common and rare types of thalassemia variants.

To date, multiple disease-related molecular networks in OA have been identified, including abnormal mechanical loadings and local inflammation. These pathways have not, however, properly elucidated the mechanism of OA progression.

Therefore, we utilized a two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) study to explore the causal associations of genetically predicted vitamin C with the risk of a variety of cancers. Single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associated with vitamin C at a significance level of < 5 × 10-8 and with a low level of linkage disequilibrium (LD) (r2 < 0.

Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) derivatives are optional painkillers but not widely used in pain management of OA patients. We synthesized the efficacy and safety of GABA derivatives for OA pain management.

Methods: We enrolled a large cohort of 19,261 pregnant individuals who had both oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) and HbA1c test between 24 and 28 weeks of gestation in a large Chinese tertiary hospital consecutively from 2013 to 2018. We used Pearson's correlation test to evaluate the correlation between OGTT and HbA1c.
Background: Systemic inflammatory biomarkers reflect level of inflammatory response, which have been suggested as prognostic factors in cancer patients.
Objective: To estimate the prognostic value of inflammatory biomarkers in 149 patients with head and neck soft tissue sarcoma (HNSTS).
Methods: Pre-treatment neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR), systemic immune-inflammation index (SII), neutrophil-platelet score (NPS) and Aarhus Composite Biomarker Score (ACBS) were analyzed for association with overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS).
The reclamation time was examined by combining field investigation and remote sensing image analysis in the Linze desert oasis area in the middle of the Hexi Corridor. Characteristics of soil organic carbon storage (SOCD) in cropland (0-20 cm) with different reclamation backgrounds were compared to understand the evolution trend of SOCD during reclamation. The SOCD of cropland (0-20 cm) varied from 2.

The FFC is an invasive instrument controlled by a stepper motor, and its principle of operation is based on a strip line structure. The longitudinal bunch shape was determined by sampling a small part of the beam hitting the strip line through a 1-mm hole.
