This article presents the results of intraoperative fluorescent diagnostics via the endoscopic system for assessing the quality of photodynamic therapy (PDT) of head and neck cancer. The diagnosis and PDT procedures were performed on the five patients with malignant neoplasms of the vocal cords, lateral surface of the tongue, and trachea and cancer of the left parotid salivary gland. Molecular form of chlorin E6 (Ce6) was intravenously administered with a 1.

Aim: To evaluate clinical peculiarities and prognostic value of abdominal syndrome in adult patients with systemic vascular purpura (SVP).

Material And Methods: Incidence, clinical picture, complications of abdominal syndrome, its relations with principal extraintestinal manifestations of SVP were studied in 125 SVP patients. Absorption and barrier functions of the small intestine, their correlations with clinical activity of the disease were investigated in 32 SVP patients with no clinical signs of intestinal affection.

The results of examination of 47 patients with confirmed diagnosis of cancer of the stomach (21 patients) or 26 suspects were analyzed. 2-4 hours after oral taking of Alasence in the dose 5-10 mg/kg, gastroscopy with spectrofluorescence analysis of ALA-induced protoporphyrin IX was performed. There were no toxic complications due to Alasence taking.

The method of endobronchial laser therapy with the use of photosensitiser-photosense (phthalocyanine aluminum)--was used since 1998 for the first time in faculty surgical clinic, as preoperative preparation in 36 patients with surgical diseases of the lungs (malignant and benign tumors and chronic inflammatory diseases). The method aimed at elimination of postoperative pyogenous complications and improvement of the respiratory system functional. The method consists in introduction into the organism by various ways the photosensitizing preparation photosence, followed by irradiation of the right and left parts of bronchial tree by low intensity laser light, (wave length 675 mm) through dispersing light guide, introduced through the flexible bronchoscope to the areas of the ostia of the lobar bronchi.

The efficiency of endobronchial therapy with low-frequency ultrasound (LFUS) and ultraviolet laser radiation (UVLR) were studied in patients with pyoinflammatory diseases of the lung. A hundred and sixty two patients with chronic bronchitis (CB) and bronchoectatic disease (BD) were clinically followed up. The complex treatment of pyoinflammatory diseases of the bronchi was supplemented by endobronchial LFUS in 86 patients, by UVLR in 29.

Diagnostic value of enzyme immunoassays and immunoagglutination kits based on monoclonal antibodies ICO 25 was investigated. Antigen CAg 25 occurred in minimal quantities (5 micrograms/ml maximum) or was absent in the bronchoalveolar lavage of patients with bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis or free of pulmonary affection. The concentration 9-19 micrograms/ml was registered in epidermoid bronchial cancer and peripheral lung cancer.

Transcutaneous procedures have been performed under ultrasound control in 404 patients with mechanical jaundice, caused by tumor of the pancreas, primary liver tumor or its metastatic lesion. Cholecystostomy was performed in 40 patients, in other cases external or external-internal draining of bile with subsequent implantation of endoprosthesis for the life-long biliary duct decompression (108 endoprostheses in 98 patients) has been done. Complication have been observed in 3 (0.

For higher efficacy of early gastric carcinoma diagnosis by endoscopy, the authors suggest a method of autofluorescent diagnostics. It is d=based on the property of endogenous porphyrins contained in the tumor to emit light under the effect of laser. The suggested method was used in examination of 54 patients.

The authors examined 131 patients with alimentary-constitutional obesity of Degrees III-IV before and after operation for "small stomach" formation. All patients underwent pre- and post-operative endoscopy of the esophagus, stomach and duodenum. The level of gastric mucosa oxygenation was measured in 50 patients before and in various periods after surgery.

Gentamycin pharmacokinetics and its concentrations in bronchial secretion were studied in routine endobronchial introduction versus endobronchial aerosol spraying with application of low-frequency ultrasound. The latter technique warranted gentamycin concentrations in bronchial secretion 24 hours after the procedure many times that minimal for inhibition of the pathogen isolated. Secretion levels of gentamycin remained high for 4 days.
