[Significant regression of glioblastoma with low level of Mgmt gene expression following radiotherapy].

Radiochemotherapy is leading the universal research effort in fighting lethality: it is improving relapse-free survival of patients with inoperable glioblastoma, the most pernicious brain tumor in adults. Its effectiveness was found to depend on expression of Mgmt gene of tumor DNA reparation following radiochemotherapy and adequate medication based on the molecular phenotype of tumor. Our study involved a 40-year old male with a low level of Mgmt gene expression as established by stereotactic biopsy.

[Clinico-neurological features, diagnostics and surgical treatment of posttraumatic chronic subdural hematomas].

The article presents results of a complex clinico-neurological and radiological examination of 47 patients with posttraumatic chronic subdural hematomas. Clinical features of the course of chronic hematomas against the background of a severe cranio-cerebral injury are established. On the basis of an analysis of data of a complex examination and results of the surgical treatment, the indications to using different methods of surgery are specified.

[Clinical and immunological aspects of vibration therapy for sinusitis].

The paper analyzes the outcomes of treatment of 326 patients with acute and chronic exudative sinusitis by using low-frequency vibratory massage--vibrotherapy that has antiinflammatory, antiedematous, and antiallergic effects, promotes normalization of body defenses and may be used as monotherapy. The therapy is shown to have a marked therapeutical effect and advantages over conventional treatments. The method is physiological, reduces the number of punctures in maxillary sinusitis, leaves the skin and mucosa intact, and decreases the use of drugs.

[New method of treatment of oropharyngeal leptotrichosis].

Thirty six patients with oropharyngeal leptotrichosis were examined and treated. Antistaphylococcal bacteriophage solution was used for their treatment. Tonsillar lacunae were washed with bacteriophage 2-3 times a week, the course of treatment included 6-8 washings.

The authors present clinicoroentgenological and immunological evaluation of low-frequency mechanical intermittent biovibromassage used in the treatment of acute maxillary sinusitis alone and in its combination with ethmoiditis. The massage provides simple-in-use and effective impact on inflammation in the cells of the ethmoidal labyrinth. It can be practiced both in hospital and outpatiently.
