Romantic love plays a central role in the lives of individuals and influences decisions about lasting relationships such as marriage or cohabitation. To understand the dynamics of intimate relationships, both personality traits and attitudes toward love styles need to be explored. This cross-sectional study aimed to examine the possible differences between married/cohabiting and single individuals in terms of Dark Triad personality traits and attitudes towards love styles, and to investigate which of these factors can significantly predict participants' relationship status.

In this study, the possible mode of action of citral against yeast cells was evaluated by using a global deletome approach. Firstly, the suitability of Σ1278b to serve as model yeast was assessed by determining its sensitivity to citral (MIC = 0.

However, despite the large amount of evidence on the psychological consequences of the pandemic, very few studies have focused on psychologists themselves. (1) Background: The present study aimed to characterise the professional and clinical profile of psychologists facing the COVID-19 outbreak and to investigate the relationship between psychological preparedness and a series of potential predictors (e.

Particularly, mesophilic SSF processes allows the production of bio-organic fertilizers enriched with beneficial soil microorganisms. However, the establishment of microbial consortia and the interaction with native waste microbiota still require thoughtful investigations.

Recent evidence suggests that victims and perpetrators might share some common psychological characteristics. Particularly, high levels of alexithymia, a difficulty in identifying and expressing emotions, and an externally oriented thinking style were found in both victims and perpetrators when compared to the general population.

In this work, within the frame of a circular economy approach, 47 and spp. were isolated from goat cheese and milk, and ewe rumen liquor, and characterized in view of their possible utilization for the production of novel pro-bioactive food and feed on scotta, a lactose rich substrate and one of the main by-products of the dairy industry.

However, their phenotypic, molecular, and functional properties are not entirely mapped. We use the Tie2-CreERT2;Rosa26-tdTomato reporter mouse to trace, profile, and cultivate primary ECs from different organs.

Despite increasing attention, there is little comparative evidence on the different types of violence involved and there is a paucity of research on sexual femicides. This study examines cases of violence against women in northern Italy, focusing on sexual and non-sexual femicides and comparing them with rape that does not result in femicides.

Background: The present study aimed to investigate the psychometric properties of the Italian version of the PTSD Checklist for the DSM-V (PCL-5) in a group of adults who had experienced heterogenous traumatic events.
Methods: Six hundred and one participants met the inclusion criteria and completed a set of questionnaires through an online survey. Before administering the survey, the PCL-5 was translated into Italian according to the back-translation method.
Red yeasts, mainly included in the genera Rhodotorula, Rhodosporidiobolus, and Sporobolomyces, are renowned biocatalysts for the production of a wide range of secondary metabolites of commercial interest, among which lipids, carotenoids, and other isoprenoids. The production of all these compounds is tightly interrelated as they share acetyl-CoA and the mevalonate pathway as common intermediates. Here, T-DNA insertional mutagenesis was applied to the wild type strain C2.

Recently, brewers' spent grain (BSG), the main by-product of brewing, was successfully recycled through vermicomposting to produce an organic soil conditioner. However, the pre-processing step there applied (oven-drying) resulted in high costs and the suppression of microbial species beneficial for soil fertility.

In Piedmont, one of the most affected areas in Italy, 4550 healthcare workers were assessed online in May-June 2020, after the acute outbreak of March-April 2020, that compelled the Italian government to enforce, what was then, the first total lockdown in the Western world.
Methods: Socio-demographic information of healthcare workers was gathered along with responses to: General Anxiety Disorder-7, Impact of Event Scale-Revised, Beck Depression Inventory-II, Peritraumatic Dissociative Experiences Questionnaire.
Violence against women is a form of gender violence, and the lethal aspect of it, defined as femicide, is a global health and human rights problem. This study looked at 330 cases of femicide that occurred in North West Italy, between 1970 and 2020, committed by 303 male perpetrators. This work investigated the chemical composition and the antimicrobial activities of the non-polar fraction extracted from four different saffron flower stamens. The chemical composition of ethereal extracts of the saffron stamens was qualitatively assessed by means of gas-chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) analyses.

Recently discovered CNS-specific transcripts are initiated far upstream of the reference promoter, spliced to exon 2 of the reference gene, and are more abundant than reference gene transcripts in post-mortem human brain samples. The proteins translated from the CNS and reference transcripts differ only at their N-terminal regions.
