Coffee, one of the most widely consumed commodities globally, embodies a sensory experience deeply rooted in social, cultural, and hedonic contexts. The cold brew (CB) method, characterized by cold extraction, is a refreshing and unique alternative to traditional coffee. Despite its growing popularity, CB lacks defined preparation parameters and comprehensive analysis of its aromatic composition.

Purpose: Crohn's disease (CD) is a progressive disorder leading to cumulative bowel damage. The Lémann index is a validated tool that can help in monitoring the progression of the disease and evaluating the effectiveness of different therapies. Our aim was to describe the main radiological findings in incidentally diagnosed CD and to evaluate bowel damage in this subgroup compared to patients diagnosed at later stages.

Background: Methotrexate (MTX) is the usual first-line treatment for rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Long-term use of MTX has been associated with liver steatosis (LS) and liver fibrosis (LF).

Aim: To determine if LS in patients treated with MTX for RA is associated with MTX cumulative dose (MTX-CD), metabolic syndrome (MtS), body mass index (BMI), the male sex, or LF.

Introduction: Children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) are at risk of experiencing fatigue that negatively impacts their health-related quality of life (HRQoL). This study aimed to assess the association between fatigue and HRQoL, by examining fatigue trajectories over 48 weeks, and assessing factors associated with these fatigue trajectories.

Methods: The study sample consisted of 173 DMD subjects enrolled in a 48-week-long phase 2 clinical trial (NCT00592553) for a novel therapeutic who were between the ages of 5 and 16 years.

Although respiratory failure has been described as an etiologic factor for hypoxic hepatitis, cases of liver failure secondary to hypoxic hepatitis after lung transplantation have not been reported.

Positive + negative is not equal to zero: Use of negative ionisation as analyte identity confirmation tool in LC-ESI-MS analysis.

In this study the use of negative electrospray ionisation mode as a confirmation tool for identifying derivatized amino acids using LC-ESI-MS, was evaluated. The derivatization reagent was based on azobenzene N-hydroxysuccinimide carbamate. The results indicate that even though negative ionisation mode produced less intense peaks, the ratio of peak area of quantifier ion (obtained in positive mode) to the qualifier (or identifier) ion measured in negative mode meets the requirements established by two prominent validation guidelines: SANTE/11312/2021 and 2002/657/EC.

New insights into the taxonomy of autoimmune diseases based on polyautoimmunity.

Objective: The clinical coexistence of two or more autoimmune diseases (ADs) fulfilling classification criteria is termed "overt polyautoimmunity" (PolyA), whereas the presence of autoantibodies unrelated to an index AD, without clinical criteria fulfillment, is known as "latent PolyA". We aimed to explore a new taxonomy of ADs based on PolyA.

Methods: In a cross-sectional study of 292 subjects, we evaluated the presence of PolyA in 146, 45, 29, 17, and 17 patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), Sjögren's syndrome (SS), autoimmune thyroid disease (AITD) and systemic sclerosis (SSc), respectively, and 38 healthy controls.

Adult patients with previously confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection and PCS were systematically assessed through a semi-structured and validated survey.

Incidence, Clinical Characteristics and Management of Inflammatory Bowel Disease in Spain: Large-Scale Epidemiological Study.

(2) Methods: Prospective, population-based nationwide registry. Determination of liver iron concentration by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is becoming the new technique of choice for the diagnosis of iron overload in hereditary haemochromatosis and other liver iron surcharge diseases. Determination of hepatic iron concentration obtained by liver biopsy has been the gold standard for years. The development of MRI techniques, via signal intensity ratio methods or relaxometry, has provided a non-invasive and more accurate approach to the diagnosis of liver iron overload.

Introduction And Objectives: To evaluate the implementation of a collaborative experience between Primary (PC) and Hospital Care (HC) aimed at reducing potentially inappropriate prescribing (PIP) in patients with polypharmacy.

Materials And Methods: Collaborative experience including a controlled before-after intervention study, carried out in the Donostialdea Integrated Health Organization (IHO), with Bilbao Basurto IHO as control group, Osakidetza, Basque Health Service. Participant were 227 PC physicians and physicians from 7 hospital services, and patients with 5 or more drugs meeting at least one PIP criteria.
