Investigation into La(Fe/Mn)O Perovskites Formation over Time during Molten Salt Synthesis.

Molten salt synthesis (MSS) of complex oxides is generally investigated by characterization of the product phases with no insight into evolution of particle morphology. In this work, LaFeO and LaMnO MSS was investigated in KF-KCl and LiCl-KCl at 850 °C using a "feeding-and-sampling" procedure. By feeding the oxide reagents into a molten salt, the reaction starting point was clearly defined, while subsequent sampling of the melt provided means for tracking the phase composition along with the shape and size of product particles during MSS.

Synthesis of LaMnO3 in molten chlorides: effect of preparation conditions.

LaMnO3 perovskite was successfully synthesized in molten chlorides. In order to explore the effect of the molten salt type, NaCl-KCl and LiCl-KCl eutectic mixtures were employed as a liquid medium for the perovskite formation process. The synthesis included heating the La-nitrate, Mn-nitrate and chlorides mixture to above the melting point of the corresponding chlorides.

Bacterial vaginosis are characterized by a polymicrobial proliferation of anaerobic organisms and the disappearance of the commensal lactobacilli, which can cause ascending utero-adnexitis and endanger ongoing pregnancy. Roxithromycin treatment of mouse chlamydial salpingitis and protective effect on fertility.

An experimental model for salpingitis due to Chlamydia trachomatis and residual tubal infertility in the mouse.

A mouse model of salpingitis and subsequent tubal infertility induced by a human strain of Chlamydia trachomatis has been studied. C3H/He female mice were inoculated into the ovarian bursa. Some of the mice (six infected, five controls) were killed on days 15 and 23 and the remaining animals (10 infected, 10 controls) were mated on day 15.

Carcinoma of the penis as a metastasis.

A case of carcinoma of the penis is reported where the tumour was metastatic in origin. The patient recovered postoperatively. Based on the histological study of the removed tumour, suspicion of bronchial cancer arose to be the primary tumour on the right side.

Bilateral renal tumours with reference to the reoperation of a solitary kidney resected for tumour.

A case of bilateral renal tumour is reviewed, where the disease was detected by sonography performed for screening. On one side, nephrectomy, while on the other, partial resection of the kidney were performed in two sessions. Due to occlusion and a resultant renal fistula produced by scar tissue following the second operation as well as to progressive azotaemia, reoperation of the solitary kidney resected for tumour became necessary.

Parenchymal operations of the lower pole of the kidney with a double collecting system.

The authors present four cases of unilateral kidney with a double collecting system where calculous change has occurred in the lower collecting system. In one of them, marginopolar nephrotomy, while in three, heminephrectomies in the destructed lower segment of the kidney were performed. The remaining upper part functioned perfectly later on.

Combined use of transurethral resection and needle biopsy in the diagnostics of carcinoma of the prostate.

On suspicion of prostatic tumour, the authors performed a combination of transurethral resection and needle biopsy to form a safe histological diagnosis as well as to apply an adequate therapy. Transurethral resection combined with needle biopsy is to be performed if patients present with dysuric complaints, and if tumour can be suspected on rectal palpation or based on the clinical picture. This intervention ensures an unequivocal diagnosis and eliminates the urinary obstruction.

[Transurethral resection in bladder tumors].

The experience gained in the course of 127 transurethral resections of bladder tumours are described. After discussing the indications and the technique the authors present their own results. The advantages of transurethral resection are emphasized: reduced operational stress, early mobilization, quick removal of the catheter, few postoperative complications, low cost of nursing.

[Urologic diseases in the differential diagnosis of acute abdomen].

The urological diseases which alone or intercurrent with surgical and gynaecologic ailments cause most of the problems in the differential diagnosis of the acute abdomen are reviewed. The necessity of a cooperation between the urologist, surgeon and gynaecologist and the importance of intra-operative diagnosis are stressed.

[Surgical treatment of induration in penis plastica].

In the past 5 years the authors have removed the scar tissue in the case of the induration of the penis plastica of 43 patients by their special surgical method. Operation had to be repeated in the case of 5 patients. Twenty-five patients were cured, 15 improved and 3 remained unchanged after operation.

[Subtotal resection of ureterocele].

After a review of the diagnostic and therapeutic possibilities of ureterocele, the authors' own experience with transvesical subtotal resection is presented. After the resection of the ureterocele, two-third of the patients were free of complaints and symptoms, their pyuria ceased and subsequent intravenous pyelography showed normal conditions.

[Possibilities of vascular surgery in urology and nephrology].

The vascular surgical procedures most frequently applied in urology and nephrology are described. The urological aspects of the various methods are stressed and cases suitable for joint urological and vascular surgery are presented. With respect to the occlusion of the renal artery the difference between the recanalization of this vessel and of the peripheral vessels is pointed out and the importance of preserving the kidney is emphasised.
