Well-integrated and productive communities are an asset to the development and advancement of our nation, and they have an important role to play in planning, learning, and enforcing safety to enhance national and border security. (Resilience, Education, Action, Commitment, and Humanity) is a community-based project housed at The University of Texas at El Paso that aims to prevent targeted violence and domestic terrorism in El Paso County. We integrated three frameworks (i.

This study examined predictors of individual general deviance (i.e., substance use, risk-taking, property crime, and interpersonal conflict/violence) within the context of COVID-19, focusing on the role of prior deviance, opportunities for crime, and levels of COVID-19- related stress.

Method: A unique program was created for baccalaureate nursing students to provide learning and practice experiences in primary practice sites that emphasized chronic disease prevention and management, including mental health and substance abuse services.
Background: The purpose of this study is to detail the implementation of HDR brachytherapy at the only radiotherapy center in Nicaragua.
Methods: Patients are treated with external-beam radiotherapy to 46-50Gy at 2Gy/fraction to the pelvis. A gynecologic examination is performed weekly.
Chimeric Antigen Receptor-T (CAR-T) cell immunotherapy has produced dramatic responses in hematologic malignancies. One of the challenges in the field is the lack of a simple assay for the detection of CARs on the surface of immune effector cells. In this study, we describe a novel luciferase-based assay, termed Topanga Assay, for the detection of CAR expression.

The US population reflects a rich diversity of people that is not reflected in the health care workforce. This article describes the Adelante (Moving Forward) Program, an innovative model designed to increase nursing workforce diversity. Adelante was created to advance baccalaureate nursing students and prenursing students by using supportive developmental relationships and mentoring strategies.

PtCo alloy catalysts for high temperature PEMFCs (protonic exchange membrane fuel cells) were synthesized on a novel noncarbonaceous support (SiCTiC) using the impregnation method with NaBH as the reducing agent at different synthesis temperatures to evaluate the effect of this variable on their physicochemical and electrochemical properties. The catalysts were characterized by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry, scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscope-energy dispersive X-ray,and temperature-programmed reduction. In addition, the electrochemical characterization (i.

XRD, hydrophobicity, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller theory, and gas permeability of MPL prepared with CNS were the parameters evaluated. In addition, a short life test in a fuel cell was carried out to evaluate performance under accelerated stress conditions.

The obtained results have permitted us to describe a homobenzocarbacephem compound as HLE and HLPR3 inhibitor, to observe the positive effect that the styryl group exerts on the HLE inhibitory activity in polycyclic β-lactam compounds and to conclude that the hydroxyl function decreases the HLE inhibitory activity or rules it out completely.

A systematic search for research studies from 1999 to early 2010 was conducted in MEDLINE and CINAHL databases. Articles were analyzed using the following foci: skills and health knowledge, functional health literacy, and health behaviors and health outcomes.

Parallel structures in complementary strands rather than antiparallel ones require the occurrence of wobble pairs and other imperfections in the stem regions. To test whether the leader structures are required for replication, artificial RNA sequences were synthesized by transcription from synthetic oligodeoxynucleotides with T7 RNA polymerase and assayed for their ability to be replicated by Q beta replicase.
