Objective: To compare caries-related microorganisms and candida in complete cleft infants with normal palate infants.
Methods: The case-control study was conducted from April 2021 to January 2022 at the College of Dentistry, University of Baghdad, Baghdad, Iraq, and comprised infants with age ranging from 1 day to 4 months. They were divided into complete cleft group A and control group B.
Objective: To evaluate relationship between oral health and body surface area among children.
Methods: The observational, cross-sectional study was conducted from January to February /2022 after approval from the ethics review committee of the College of Dentistry, University of Baghdad, Baghdad, Iraq, and comprised children of either gender aged 6-8 years who were randomly selected from primary schools in the city. Body surface area was calculated geometrically using different formulas, and the DuBois formula was used to make the intervals.
Streptococcusmutans and lactobacilli are most important bacteria in the pathogenesis of dental caries. Cariogenic microflora has been associated to the primary caregiver transmission and sugary diets.
