Introduction: Vascular access-related aneurysms (VARA) are a complication of arteriovenous fistulas. Repair techniques have been described in the literature with varied outcomes.
Materials And Methods: We conducted a prospective cohort study on patients who had VARA repair over 41 months.
Introduction Meniscus tear is a commonly encountered sports-related injury requiring surgical intervention due to knee mobility dysfunction and discomfort. Previously, it has been thought that these are non-functional vestigial structures and they used to be excised commonly. Recent studies have shown that meniscal repair gives superior results when compared with partial meniscectomy.

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of perioperative duloxetine on postoperative outcomes of anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL) surgical repair for chronic ankle instability (CAI) in patients with depression. We further sought to evaluate patients' satisfaction and side effects related to duloxetine.

To date, multielement alloy TMDC layers are obtained via exfoliation from bulk polycrystalline powders. Here, we demonstrate direct deposition of high-entropy alloy disulfide, (VNbMoTaW)S, layers with controllable thicknesses on free-standing graphene membranes and on bare and hBN-covered AlO(0001) substrates via ultra-high-vacuum reactive dc magnetron sputtering of the VNbMoTaW target in Kr and HS gas mixtures.

Methods: Patients who underwent ACL reconstruction using four-strand hamstring tendon grafts (hamstring group), autologous hamstrings augmented with the LARS (LARS group), or synthetic meshwork of LARS (meshwork group) were selected in this prospective randomized clinical study. Patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) were obtained preoperatively; at 6, 12, and 18 months postoperatively; and at final follow-up between 3 and 8 years.
Background: Although knee osteoarthritis (OA) and osteoporosis (OP) are common age-related bone disorders, the association between the two conditions remains indefinable. The aim of the present study is to investigate a possible relationship between the two conditions in post-menopausal women.
Methodology: A cross-sectional study was conducted at King Khalid University Hospital, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, after obtaining IRB approval.
We report on a phenomenon, where thin films sputter-deposited on single-crystalline AlO(0001) substrates exposed to borazine─a precursor commonly used for the synthesis of hexagonal boron nitride layers─are more highly oriented than those grown on bare AlO(0001) under the same conditions. We observed this phenomenon in face-centered cubic Pd, body-centered cubic Mo, and trigonal TaC thin films grown on AlO(0001). Interestingly, intermittent exposure to borazine during the growth of TaC thin films on TaC yields better crystallinity than direct deposition of monolithic TaC.

In the present study, Tinosporaside, a diterpenoid isolated from the stem of , was investigated for its effects on glucose utilization in skeletal muscle cells, which was followed by determining the anti-hyperglycemic efficacy in our diabetic db/db mice model. We found that tinosporaside augmented glucose uptake by increasing the translocation of GLUT4 to the plasma membrane in L6 myotubes, upon prolonged exposure for 16 h.

Methods: In this prospective randomized clinical trial, patients were assigned to tourniquet inflation (tourniquet-up) or tourniquet deflation (tourniquet-down) groups. Primary outcomes were intraoperative visualization with operative time and sterile saline consumption.
Purpose: To compare the clinical, radiological, and second-look arthroscopic outcomes in patients who underwent anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction using a four-strand hamstring tendon graft (hamstring group) either without augmentation or with ligament augmentation and reconstruction system (LARS) augmentation (LARS augmentation group).
Methods: From January 2018 to December 2019, patients who underwent ACL reconstruction were included. Patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) were undertaken pre-operatively and at three, six, 12, and 24 months post-operatively.
Background Discordance between hip and spine on dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry is a well-known problem in diagnosing osteoporosis. The prevalence and risk factors of this problem have not been studied in the Saudi population. The objective of this study was to document this discordance in our population and its possible risk factors.

Until 2018, Egypt had the highest prevalence of hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection globally, affecting approximately 7% of the population. Despite efforts in diagnosis and treatment since 2006, nearly 2 million individuals with chronic HCV infection had yet to be diagnosed as of early 2018. In December, 2018, a mass HCV screening campaign for adolescents aged 15-18 years was initiated.

The growing smooth talk in the field of natural compounds is due to the ancient and current interest in herbal medicine and their potentially positive effects on health. Dozens of antidiabetic natural compounds were reported and tested in vivo, in silico, and in vitro. The role of these natural compounds, their actions on the insulin signaling pathway, and the stimulation of the glucose transporter-4 (GLUT4) insulin-responsive translocation to the plasma membrane (PM) are all crucial in the treatment of diabetes and insulin resistance.

In light of this, the current study was designed to isolate and identify the chemical constituents of the flavonoids fraction from ripe fruit (FFM), and evaluate its DPPH scavenging, anti-lipase, cytotoxicity, antimicrobial and antidiabetic effects. An ethyl acetate extract of was subjected to a sequence of silica gel column chromatography using different eluents with various polarities.

Background: Knowledge about the outcome of COVID-19 on pregnant women is so important. The published literature on the outcomes of pregnant women with COVID-19 is confusing. The aim of this study was to report our clinical experience about the effect of COVID-19 on pregnant women and to determine whether it was associated with increased mortality or an increase in the need for mechanical ventilation in this special category of patients.

Methodology: In this study, authors used the online available data sources of randomly selected 18 countries to figure out potential determinants of COVID-19 transmissibility and mortality. The studied variables were environmental factors (daily average temperature, daily humidity), socioeconomic attributes (population age structure, count and density, human development index, per capita income (PCI), gross domestic product, internet coverage) mobility trends and chronic diseases.
Introduction: Tourniquets are commonly used during foot and ankle surgery to provide a bloodless operative field and increase surgical comfort, despite the potential risks associated with it. This study compared postoperative outcomes of tourniquet-assisted and non-tourniquet-assisted operative fixation of calcaneal fractures via the sinus tarsi approach.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective study from March 2015 to December 2018 revealed 131 patients with closed calcaneal fractures who underwent minimally invasive surgery at our hospital.
