Background: Displaced tibial tubercle (TT) fractures in adolescents are typically treated with open reduction and internal fixation. While metallic screw (MS) fixation provides strong stability, it often results in a high incidence of postoperative screw head protrusion or irritation, leading to additional removal surgery. Bioabsorbable screw (BS) fixation presents an alternative that may avoid these issues, though its stability has not yet been extensively documented in the literature.

Background: Identification of global transcriptional events is crucial for genome annotation, as accurate annotation enhances the efficiency and comparability of genomic information across species. However, the annotation of transcripts in the cucumber genome remains to be improved, and many transcriptional events have not been well studied.
Results: We collected 1,904 high-quality public cucumber transcriptome samples from the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) to identify and annotate transcript isoforms in the cucumber genome.
Background: The profitability of the beef industry is directly influenced by the fertility rate and reproductive performance of both males and females, which can be improved through selective breeding. When performing genomic analyses, genetic markers located on the X chromosome have been commonly ignored despite the X chromosome being one of the largest chromosomes in the cattle genome. Therefore, the primary objectives of this study were to: (1) estimate variance components and genetic parameters for eighteen male and five female fertility and reproductive traits in Nellore cattle including X chromosome markers in the analyses; and (2) perform genome-wide association studies and functional genomic analyses to better understand the genetic background of male and female fertility and reproductive performance traits in Nellore cattle.

We established a UV-irradiated mouse model to investigate the effects of UV radiation on changes in skin color. By measuring changes in the expression of genes related to cutaneous sympathetic nerves, norepinephrine synthesis and melanin synthesis, we investigated the relationship between β2-AR expression and cutaneous melanogenesis and determined the localization of β2-AR in cells.

Here, we describe the mechanistic basis for the intertwined association of ENL and MOZ. Genomic analysis shows that ENL and MOZ co-occupy active promoters and that MOZ recruits ENL to its gene targets.

However, the mechanisms for how gut microbiota triggers cellular senescence and the consequent impact on human aging remain enigmatic. Here we show that phenylacetylglutamine (PAGln), a metabolite linked to gut microbiota, drives host cellular senescence.

Utilizing a series of wind tunnel experiments on a photovoltaic array comprising four equally sized panels, this study assessed how variations in tilt angle, mounting height, spacing, and incoming flow direction influence both the accumulation mass of dust and the particle size distribution in a photovoltaic array. The results indicate that the dust accumulation on the first panel exponential growth with increasing tilt angle, incoming flow angles, and height, while subsequent panels displayed a trend of initial increase followed by a decrease, with a maximum increasing ratio achieved at specific installation configurations, the difference of dust mass on each panel can even be several times.

The EMCC electrode substrate was prepared by modifying carbon cloth through electrochemical methods to increase its surface area, which allowed for the effective deposition of o-ATP@AuNPs/PB composite functional layer and improved the conductivity of the electrode material. The synergistic effect of o-ATP@AuNPs and PB significantly enhanced the sensitivity of the electrochemical sensor.
