Food insecurity (FI) is a public health concern that affects health status. In this study, we aimed to investigate the FI status, and the probable link between FI and a number of risk factors related to Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) in Alborz Province, Iran. This was a cross-sectional study in which 983 housewives living in Alborz Province, with the age range of 18-65 years were selected randomly using a multi-stage cluster sampling method, between 2018 and 2019.

To date, this is the first study aimed to investigate the effects of SSC tea on disease activity score (DAS), serum inflammatory biomarkers and matrix metalloproteinases (MMP-1 and MMP-3) among women with rheumatoid arthritis (RA).
Methods: This pilot, triple-blind, randomized controlled clinical trial was conducted among forty-four women (age: 30-65 years) diagnosed with moderately active RA.
Branched chain amino acids (BCAA), with vitamin B6 have been reported to improve fat metabolism and muscle synthesis. We hypothesized that supplementation with BCAA and vitamin B6 would result in more weight loss and improve body composition and blood markers related to cardiovascular diseases. Our aim was to determine whether the mentioned supplementation would affect weight loss, body composition, and cardiovascular risk factors during weight loss intervention.
