Background: Fetal distress (FD) is one of the most frequent causes of emergency cesarean section (CS) due to the insufficient uteroplacental blood supply during labor. There is a theory that Sildenafil citrate (SC) may improve the uteroplacental blood supply and decrease fetal hypoxia and FD.
Methods: In a randomized double-blinded clinical trial, a total of 208 low-risk subjects who met our stringent inclusion criteria were randomly assigned into two groups: the Sildenafil citrate group (n=104) and the placebo group (n=104).
Background And Aims: Cesarean scar pregnancy (CSP) is a rare medical condition accounting for 1:2000 of all pregnancies with prior history of cesarean deliveries (CS). As the rate of CS is increasing worldwide, it is important to know the nature of CSP and its complications.
Methods: In this retrospective case-control study, we evaluated 264 pregnant women; 86 cases with ultra-sonographic findings of CSP and 178 controls: normal pregnancies with gestational age less than 12 weeks.
Background: Pectoralis major tendon rupture rate is increasing due to increased tendency to bodybuilding exercises, specially the bench press workout, and weight-lifting. The aim of this study was to determine the results of pectoralis major rupture repair with Achilles tendon allograft in bodybuilding athletes.
Methods: In this case series study, 22 bodybuilding athlete patients (24 pectoralis major ruptures) were undergone open surgical repair during January 2016 till December 2020.
Background: Several therapeutic methods have been proposed for frozen shoulder syndrome. These include suprascapular nerve block, a simple and cost-effective technique that eliminates the need for nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug therapy.
Methods: This was a clinical trial that included patients with unilateral shoulder joint stiffness.
Background: The aim of this study was to determine the treatment outcome of humeral shaft fractures with a locked rigid intramedullary nail in patients indicated for surgical treatment.
Methods: In this descriptive-cross sectional study, all patients were followed up for one, six, and 18 months post operatively. The Short Form Questionnaire (SF-36) and Constant Shoulder Score were applied.
Background: Orthopedic injuries are among the most common causes of mortality, morbidity, hospitalization, and economic burden in societies.
Objectives: In this research, we study the prevalence of different types of trauma requiring orthopedic surgery.
Patients And Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study on 2582 patients with acute orthopedic injuries admitted to the orthopedic emergency ward at the Poursina Hospital (a referral center in Guilan province (northern Iran), during December 2010 through September 2011.
