In the future of higher education, student learning will become more virtual and group-oriented, and this new reality of academic learning comes with challenges. Positive social interactions in virtual synchronous student learning groups are not self-evident but need extra support. To successfully support positive social interactions, the underlying group processes, such as collaborative group engagement, need to be understood in detail, and the important question arises: How can collaborative group engagement be assessed in virtual group learning settings? A promising methodological approach is the observation of students' non-verbal behavior, for example, in videoconferences.

Frequency of Prenatal Care Visits: A Core Outcome Set for Prenatal Care Schedules.

The aim of this study is to develop a core outcome set for the frequency and modality of prenatal care visits. A consensus development study was conducted in the United States with participants, including 31 health care professionals, 12 public policy members or public health payers, and 18 public members, representing 24 states. A modified Delphi method and modified nominal group technique were utilized.

Dermatomyositis presenting with diffuse calcinosis.

We present the case of a woman in her early 50s who initially presented to an orthopedist for nodules located near the posterior knee. Imaging revealed diffuse subcutaneous calcifications and she was subsequently referred to rheumatology. Additional testing included myositis panel, electromyography (EMG) and muscle biopsy which indicated the presence of an inflammatory myopathy.

Videos are an increasingly popular medium for supporting learning in various educational settings. Nowadays, newly designed video-based environments contain enhanced tools that allow for specific interactions with video materials (such as adding annotations and hyperlinks) which may well support generative learning and conceptual understanding. However, to exploit the potentials of such enhanced tools, we need to gain a deeper understanding on the learning processes and outcomes that go along with using these tools.

Trauma is a global phenomenon resulting in the death of millions of people every year and affecting countless others. Foundational to excellence in trauma nursing, which contributes to optimal patient outcomes, is evidence-based education driven by best practices accompanied by a systematic approach to the assessment and care of the injured patient. The Trauma Nursing Core Course has provided nurses with the knowledge necessary for the assessment and management of injured patients since the first course was held in 1986.

Impact of Obstetrics and Gynecology Clerkship Order on NBME Exam Scores After a Curriculum Change.

Objective: Our Institution instituted curriculum reform in 2013. We sought to examine the impact of rotation order on the end of clerkship National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) Obstetrics and Gynecology (Ob/Gyn) Subject Exam scores after curriculum restructuring.

Design: This is a retrospective analysis of Ob/Gyn NBME scores over 2 years after curriculum reform.

The one-size-fits-all model of prenatal care has remained largely unchanged since 1930. New models of prenatal care delivery can improve its efficacy, equity, and experience through tailoring prenatal care to meet pregnant people's medical and social needs. Key aspects of recently developed prenatal care models include visit schedules based on needed services, telemedicine, home measurement of routine pregnancy parameters, and interventions that address social and structural drivers of health.

Background: Prenatal care, one of the most common preventive care services in the United States, endeavors to improve pregnancy outcomes through evidence-based screenings and interventions. Despite the prevalence of prenatal care and its importance to maternal and infant health, there are several debates about the best methods of prenatal care delivery, including the most appropriate schedule frequency and content of prenatal visits. Current US national guidelines recommend that low-risk individuals receive a standard schedule of 12 to 14 in-office visits, a care delivery model that has remained unchanged for almost a century.

Melanoma Prognosis and Associated Risk Factors: A Retrospective Cohort Study Using Semantic Map Analysis.

The overall patterns of correlations among various melanoma risk factors have not yet been examined. The aim of this study was to assess the impact of different parameters on disease-free and melanoma-related overall survival. A retrospective cohort study was conducted encompassing all patients with a primary cutaneous melanoma diagnosed in a university referral centre.

Vector-based SARS-CoV-2 vaccination is associated with improved T-cell responses in hematological neoplasia.

In order to elucidate mechanisms for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 vaccination success in hematological neoplasia, we, herein, provide a comprehensive characterization of the spike-specific T-cell and serological immunity induced in 130 patients in comparison with 91 healthy controls. We studied 121 distinct T-cell subpopulations and the vaccination schemes as putative response predictors. In patients with lymphoid malignancies an insufficient immunoglobulin G (IgG) response was accompanied by a healthy CD4+ T-cell function.

Purpose: Evaluate concordance of provider practices with clinical guidelines for thrombectomy screening in an emergency department (ED) via computed tomography perfusion and angiogram (CT-P/A).

Methods: A retrospective observational study was conducted for patients 18 years or older who received a CT-P/A of the head and neck in a US Midwestern ED between September 2019 through June 2021. Healthcare system records reviewed for patient information, CT-P/A findings, and treatment decisions.

Chlorophyll (Chl ) belongs to the most important and most investigated molecules in the field of photosynthesis. The Q-band absorption is central for energy transfer in photosystems and the relative orientation of the Q transitions of interacting chlorophylls governs the energy transfer. Chl was well investigated, but a quantitative separation of Q and Q contributions to the Q-band of the Chl absorption spectrum is still missing.

Post-Irradiation Morphea of the Breast in a Patient with Subacute Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus: Case Report and a Literature Review.

The appearance of morphea after radiotherapy, especially in the context of breast cancer, is a rare but known phenomenon. The incidence of post-irradiation morphea (PIM) of the breast is approximately one in every 500 patients, a higher rate than morphea of any other etiology, which is three per 100000 per year. PIM usually appears less than 1 year after irradiation (range 1 month to 32 years).

Despite widespread use, little is known about rheumatology patient preferences for AVS content and style. The aims of this quality improvement project are to identify patient preferences and to design a rheumatology-specific AVS, using the Kano method.
