This study evaluates the reproducibility of machine learning models that integrate radiomics and deep features (features extracted from a 3D autoencoder neural network) to classify various brain hemorrhages effectively. Using a dataset of 720 patients, we extracted 215 radiomics features (RFs) and 15,680 deep features (DFs) from CT brain images. With rigorous screening based on Intraclass Correlation Coefficient thresholds (>0.

Article Synopsis
  • Single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) display unique electronic and optical properties influenced by their chiral structure and interaction with substances inside and outside their hollow core.
  • Interaction-induced shifts in fluorescence are difficult to detect in mixed samples due to broad inhomogeneous line widths of the PL in ensemble measurements.
  • This study introduces a new method combining hyperspectral PL microscopy with automated segmentation techniques, enabling precise spatial and spectral resolution of individual SWCNTs, thus allowing for the accurate identification of emission shifts and the quantification of different types of SWCNTs in larger samples.

Background: Aquaporins (AQPs) are essential proteins that facilitate the rapid movement of water and cryoprotective agents (CPAs) during the cryopreservation process, and ensure the cryo-tolerance of sperm cells.

Objective: This study evaluated the preservation of aquaporin levels in human sperm after undergoing freezing using natural deep eutectic solvents (NADES) as CPAs for cryoprotection.

Materials And Methods: From June 2021 to October 2022, 35 semen samples with normal sperm parameters were acquired from the Mehr Infertility Treatment Institute in Rasht, Iran.

Phosphorylation is the most important and studied post-translational modification (PTM), which plays a crucial role in protein function studies and experimental design. Many significant studies have been performed to predict phosphorylation sites using various machine-learning methods. Recently, several studies have claimed that deep learning-based methods are the best way to predict the phosphorylation sites because deep learning as an advanced machine learning method can automatically detect complex representations of phosphorylation patterns from raw sequences and thus offers a powerful tool to improve phosphorylation site prediction.

Objectives: Tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinase-3 (TIMP-3) and matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) play a major role in embryo implantation and placentation. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between TIMP-3 serum level and TIMP-3 genetic polymorphism with pregnancy outcome in patients undergoing in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET).

Material And Methods: This project included 100 infertile women who became pregnant after IVF (IVF+) and 100 infertile women who failed to conceive after IVF (IVF-).

Objective: Many genes and miRNAs have been shown to be associated with the pathogenesis of endometriosis. (p63) is implicated in lineage specification, proliferative potential, differentiation, cell death and survival. The proto-oncogene encodes a cytoplasmic and nuclear protein tyrosine kinase implicated in cell differentiation, cell division, and cell adhesion.

In this study, we propose a new method to identify corrosion minerals in carbon steel using hyperspectral imaging (HSI) in the shortwave infrared range (900-1700 nm). Seven samples were artificially corroded using a neutral salt spray test and examined using a hyperspectral camera. A normalized cross-correlation algorithm is used to identify four different corrosion minerals (goethite, magnetite, lepidocrocite and hematite), using reference spectra.

Objective: To investigate if combination therapy with clomiphene citrate (CC) plus letrozole (L) was associated with a higher efficacy than L and CC alone in patients undergoing ovarian induction plus intrauterine insemination.

Methods: The present multicenter randomized controlled clinical trial was performed between 2018 and 2020. Participants were randomized into three groups: L (n = 167; 5 mg/day), CC (n = 167; 100 mg/day), and L + CC (n = 167) (2.

Purpose: Considerable evidence suggests that mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative stress contribute to the pathogenesis of Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). We aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of mitochondria-targeted antioxidant, MitoQ10, on the redox signaling pathway's component in PCOS.

Method: We assessed TXNIP, TRX, and ASK1 expression in granulosa cells (GCs) of the DHEA-induced PCOS mouse model.

Background & Objectives: The detailed assessment of sperm morphology is important in the semen of infertile men because there is a low proportion of normal spermatozoa. One of the parameters of such sperm morphology is the acrosome, and its effect on assisted reproductive outcomes is controversial. This study was undertaken to evaluate the association between different forms of acrosome on the chromatin status and the assisted reproductive outcomes.

This study assessed the seroprevalence of brucellosis and its risk factors in migratory nomads in the Fars province of Iran. Active brucellosis was defined as the combination of clinical symptoms, including fever, chills, night sweats, headache, low back pain, arthralgia, or myalgia, and positive laboratory testing, including either a serum agglutination test (SAT) ⩾1:80 with a 2-mercaptoethanol (2-ME) test ⩾1:40, or a SAT <1:80 combined with a positive Coombs Wright test (CWT) at a titre of at least threefold higher than SAT titre results. For the 536 participants, the female (316, 59%) to male (220, 41%) ratio was 1·4 and the participants' mean age was 32·4 ± 18·9 (range 1-96) years.

Endometriosis is defined as the presence of ectopic endometrial glands and stroma outside of the uterine cavity. Recent studies have shown that the oxidative stress causes irreparable damage, which leads to oxidative enzymopathies. Catalase gene encodes an antioxidant enzyme, detoxifying hydrogen peroxide to H2O and O2.

Spontaneous abortion is the most common complication of early pregnancy. Genetic factors have been hypothesised to play a role in spontaneous abortion. Since it is possible that the balance of oxidants and antioxidants can be affected by different genetic variants, gene polymorphisms have been proposed as a susceptibility factor that increases the chance of miscarriage.
