- Ischemia-reperfusion (IR) injury negatively impacts the ovaries, and this study examined the potential benefits of Tarantula cubensis extract (TCE) on this condition in female rats.
- The rats were divided into seven groups, where some received TCE or ethanol before or after being subjected to ischemia (lack of blood flow) and reperfusion (restoration of blood flow) while others acted as controls.
- Results showed that TCE treatment improved the histopathological condition of the ovaries, particularly when administered before ischemia, despite not significantly lowering certain oxidative stress markers; additionally, inflammatory cytokine levels decreased with TCE treatment.
