A case of sinus histiocytosis with generalized lymphadenopathy--Rosai-Dorfman disease--in a 54 year old male is presented. The diagnosis was made by biopsy of the lymph nodes and histopathological examination of the affected organ. Treatment with prednisone and cyclophosphamide induced clinical improvement.

The course of allergic alveolitis was observed in 19 patients. The diagnosis was based on medical history, exposition to organic dust, clinical findings, respiratory function and in selected cases on results of transbronchial lung biopsy. All patients presented restrictive patterns of lung function abnormalities.

Diagnostic usefulness of BAL was assessed in 25 selected cases of interstitial lung diseases. There were 14 cases of allergic alveolitis, 6 cases of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and one case each of sarcoidosis, lymphangiomyomatosis, granulomotosis bronchocentrica, lymphogranulomatosis maligna, alveolitis of unknown etiology. BAL was assessed diagnostically usefull in 77% of the cases.

A case of Wegener's granulomatosis in a female with characteristic three organ involvement (upper airway, lung, kidneys) is presented. The changes were also seen in the suprarenal glands. This merits attention due to the fact that such a localization was never previously published.

A comparison of serum, pulmonary tissue and bronchial secretory levels of erythromycin and cyclic--11,12 carbonate of erythromycin (Davercin--Polfa) was carried out in 55 patients with lung cancer. All patients received erythromycin and Davercin 80 hours prior surgery, during which a small fragment of pulmonary tissue was removed for further evaluation. Concentration of both antibiotics was determined microbiologically.
