Intragastric balloons have gained popularity in the management of morbid obesity. Although the procedure of insertion is easy and is generally accepted by patients, a few complications can occur. We report a case of small bowel obstruction caused by spontaneous deflation and forced passage of an air-filled intragastric balloon into the small bowel.

Laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding is a commonly performed bariatric operation worldwide. The presence of an anatomical variation like situs inversus demands preoperative assessment and preparedness on the part of the surgeon. We report a laparoscopic gastric banding performed on a morbidly obese patient with situs inversus totalis in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Thyroid storm is a known complication of thyroid surgery. Nowadays, it is commonly seen in thyrotoxic patients. In this case report we discuss a patient who presented with acute abdomen and normothermia and was discovered to have thyrotoxicosis, a rare feature of thyroid storm.
