Article Synopsis
- Lateral ankle sprains are common injuries, especially in sports, leading to various prevention methods such as traditional athletic tape and kinesiology tape, the latter being more flexible and popular.
- A study involving 27 healthy individuals tested the effectiveness of kinesiology tape on ankle stability compared to conditions with and without shoes, measuring muscle activity during ankle perturbations.
- The results indicated that kinesiology tape did not significantly improve ankle stability, while wearing shoes was found to increase muscle activity across all measured variables.
