Background: Residence in ethnic enclaves and nativity are both associated with survival in Hispanic patients with cancer, although their prognostic significance in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is unknown. We aimed to determine the association between nativity, neighborhood socioeconomic status (nSES), and ethnic enclave residency with overall survival in Hispanic patients with HCC.

Methods: Hispanic patients diagnosed with HCC from 2004 to 2017 were identified in the Texas Cancer Registry.

Immunotherapy has revolutionized the standard of care in multiple aspects of oncology. Given successes in the setting of unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and the advantages of neoadjuvant therapy, many trials are demonstrating the safety and feasibility of combination of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs)/tyrosine kinases in patients with resectable HCC. Numerous clinical trials are currently investigating the role of different immune modulators either as monotherapy or as combination therapy in the neoadjuvant setting.

Soft tissue sarcomas are common neoplasms accounting for 1% of all adult malignancies; however, soft tissue sarcomas infrequently arise from the abdominal viscera. Many case reports discuss gastric and esophageal neoplasms. In the group of gastrointestinal liposarcomas, primary duodenal liposarcomas are among the rarest, with only three previous cases reported in the literature.
