Elevated frequency and everyday functioning implications of vascular depression in persons with HIV disease.

Depression and cardiovascular disease are common and associated with one another in HIV disease. This study aimed to determine the frequency and everyday functioning implications of the clinical syndrome of vascular depression among people living with HIV (PLWH). Participants in this cross-sectional study included 536 PLWH and 272 seronegative individuals who completed a biomedical and psychiatric research evaluation.
