A case report of necrotizing crepitant cellulitis of abdominal wall following caesarean section is presented. Because of intense haemorrhage it was namely necessary to perform additional hysterectomy and bilateral hypogastric artery ligation. Serious wound infection and sepsis were successfully treated by administration of antibiotics and repeated deep incisions.

Pelvic angioscintigraphic examination of seven patients after unilateral hypogastric artery ligation has been performed. Immediately after the operation asymmetric perfusion has been observed in all women. Subsequent control examination of 4 patients ligatured by nonabsorbable suture has shown persisting unilateral hypoperfusion.

Thermographic examination of buttocks of 7 patients after hypogastric artery ligation using non-absorbable suture has been performed. In 6 patients the possibility of eventual recanalization has been eliminated by aortography, in 1 patient by pelvic angioscintigraphy. Repeated thermographic examination of 3 patients after bilateral ligation has shown no anomalous results.

Reported in this paper is sterilisation by application of Fallopian ring with laparoscopy voluntarily undergone by 629 women. The amount of surgical complications (4.2 per cent) was found to be substantially affected by the surgeon's experience.

After very good results with a new model of the Mayer-Ringpessary made of organic glass the authors used this "unbloody cerclage" as a method of choice with all patients in their district (180 000 inhabitants) with partus praematurus imminens. It is necessary controls to apply the method in stage of this complication in good-time. There were below 10% of immature children in 405 high risk patients and only 1,2% to 1500 g.
