Background: An annulus fissure or defect will inevitably be left on the posterior annulus fibrosus after almost all kinds of lumbar discectomy, which may lead to unsatisfying postoperative pain relief and recurrence of the disc herniation.
Objective: The objective of this research is to introduce the technique of full-endoscopic annulus fibrosus suture following lumbar discectomy through the transforaminal or interlaminar approach, and to analyze the clinical outcome of full-endoscopic lumbar discectomy and annulus fibrosus suture.
Study Design: This study used a prospective cohort design.
Objective: To investigate the compensatory mechanism of maintaining the sagittal balance in degenerative lumbar scoliosis patients with different pelvic incidence (PI).
Methods: This was a retrospective imaging observation study. Patients in our department with degenerative lumbar scoliosis between 2017 and 2019 were reviewed.
Previous studies have shown that nicorandil has a protective effect on cardiomyocytes. However, there is no study to investigate whether perioperative intravenous nicorandil can further reduce the myocardial infarct size in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) compared to the current standard of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) regimen. The CHANGE (China-Admini stration of Nicorandil Group) study is a multicenter, prospective, randomized, double-blind and parallel-controlled clinical study of STEMI patients undergoing primary PCI in China, aiming to evaluate the efficacy and safety of intravenous nicorandil in ameliorating the myocar dial infarct size in STEMI patients undergoing primary PCI and provide evidence-based support for myocardial protection strategies of STEMI patients.

This retrospective study aimed to investigate the demyelinating distribution and the selective vulnerability of MMN, LSS, and CIDP with CB (CIDP-CB) in nerves.
Methods: Fifteen LSS subjects (107 nerves), 24 MMN subjects (176 nerves), and 17 CIDP-CB subjects (110 nerves) were included.

Purpose: In this study, pore size and porosity distribution of porous Ti-6Al-4V scaffolds (pTi) were controlled by 3D printing. The effects of pore size distribution at a constant porosity, or porosity distribution at a constant pore size pertaining to functions of adhesion, proliferation, and differentiation of the mouse embryonic osteoblast precursor (MC3T3-E1) cells were researched separately.
Methods: 3D printing was used to design five groups of pTi, designated as PS/HP, PS/LP, PS/HP, PS/LP, and PS/HP based on pore size and porosity distribution.
Sepsis is a life-threatening disease that results in excessive stimulation of the host's immune cells. In the animal study, the purpose was to investigate the roles of fresh frozen plasma (FFP) transfusion in shaping the CD4 T lymphocytes immune response through modulating the secreted exosome protein Galectin-9 in mice with severe sepsis. By using Western blot analysis, we first identified that the protein Galectin-9 is highly accumulated in the blood plasma of severe sepsis mice, and with transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and protein analysis, we found that Galectin-9 is a secreted exosome protein.

The nanoresolution of geometric phase elements for visible wavelengths calls for a flexible technology with high throughout and free from vacuum. In this article, we propose a high-efficiency and simple manufacturing method for the fabrication of geometric phase elements with femtosecond-laser direct writing (FsLDW) and thermal annealing by combining the advantages of high-efficiency processing and thermal smoothing effect. By using a femtosecond laser at a wavelength of 343 nm and a circular polarization, free-form nanogratings with a period of 300 nm and 170-nm-wide grooves were obtained in 50 s by laser direct ablation at a speed of 5 mm/s in a non-vacuum environment.

Methods: This was a prospective, parallel, single-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial. Sixty patients with stable Group D COPD were randomly allocated to receive either oral QYCs (intervention group) or placebos (control group, 30 cases per group) for 15 days in the presumed high-incidence air pollution season and followed-up for 1 year.
Objective: To investigate the characteristics of the macrophage response to transfusion of erythrocytes kept at different storage times in the mouse model of haemorrhagic shock.
Methods: Erythrocytes were isolated from mice and stored for 7, 21 or 35 days and samples injected intravenously into haemorrhagic shock mice. Changes in macrophages, inflammatory cytokines and T cell differentiation were assessed using flow cytometry or enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).
Previous studies have shown that CCL2 (C-C motif chemokine ligand 2) induces chronic pain, but the exact mechanisms are still unknown. Here, we established models to explore the potential mechanisms. Behavioral experiments revealed that an antagonist of extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) inhibited not only CCL2-induced inflammatory pain, but also pain responses induced by complete Freund's adjuvant.

Central sensitization has been linked with the maintenance of neuropathic pain and may become an autonomous pain generator. Conversely, emerging evidence accumulated that central sensitization is initiated and maintained by ongoing nociceptive primary afferent inputs.

We investigate the influence of hydrostatic/biaxial strain on the formation, migration, and clustering of vacancy in tungsten (W) using a first-principles method, and show that the vacancy behaviors are strongly dependent on the strain. Both a monovacancy formation energy and a divacancy binding energy decrease with the increasing of compressive hydrostatic/biaxial strain, but increase with the increasing of tensile strain. Specifically, the binding energy of divacancy changes from negative to positive when the hydrostatic (biaxial) tensile strain is larger than 1.

The expression of miRNA is highly conservative, has time sequence and is highly tissue-specific. MiRNA could not be easily degraded by ribonuclease, and is resistant to changes in environmental factors such as temperature and pH value.

Objective: This study aims to investigate the biological function of circular RNA ABCB10 (circ-ABCB10) in regulating the progression of glioma and to study the possible underlying mechanisms.
Patients And Methods: The expression levels of circ-ABCB10, miR-620 and FABP5 mRNA in glioma tissues, normal surrounding tissues and glioma cell lines were measured by Real-time PCR (RT-PCR). Circ-ABCB10 was silenced by siRNA in glioma cell lines (U87, T98G).
is an important cereal crop in Ethiopia with excellent storage properties, high-quality food, and the unique ability to thrive in extreme environmental conditions. However, the application of advanced molecular tools for breeding and conservation of these species is extremely limited. Therefore, developing chloroplast genome resources and high-resolution molecular markers are valuable to population and biogeographic studies.

Both posterior decompression and fusion (PDF) and laminoplasty (LAMP) have been used to treat cervical myelopathy due to multilevel ossification of posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL). However, considerable controversy exists over the choice of the two surgical strategies. Thus, the aim of this study is to compare clinical outcomes of PDF and LAMP for treatment of cervical myelopathy due to multilevel OPLL.
