[A supplementary detection method and supervision strategy for adulteration of Panacis Quinquefolii Radix in Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma and its preparations].

Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma and its preparations are often adulterated with Panacis Quinquefolii Radix. Based on the research on Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma and Panacis Quinquefolii Radix, the causes and analytical method of adulteration were determined. A UPLC-MS/MS method was developed for the detection of Panacis Quinquefolii Radix mixed in Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, with pseudoginsenoside F_(11) as the marker.

Plants mount induced resistance and adult-plant resistance against different pathogens throughout the whole growth period. Rice production faces threats from multiple major diseases, including rice blast, sheath blight, and bacterial leaf blight. Here, we report that the miR172a-SNB-MYB30 module regulates both induced and adult-plant resistance to these three major diseases via lignification in rice.

In vitro regulation of collective cell migration: Understanding the role of physical and chemical microenvironments.

Collective cell migration is the primary mode of cellular movement during embryonic morphogenesis, tissue repair and regeneration, and cancer invasion. Distinct from single-cell migration, collective cell migration involves complex intercellular signaling cascades and force transmission. Consequently, cell collectives exhibit intricate and diverse migration patterns under the influence of the microenvironment in vivo.

Anti-inflammatory 5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-2-(2-phenylethyl) chromone derivatives from the stems of Aquilaria sinensis.

Three previously undescribed 5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-2-(2-phenylethyl)chromones, (5S,6R,7S,8S)-8-chloro-5-ethoxy-6,7-dihydroxy-2-[2-(4'-methoxyphenyl)ethyl]-5,6,7,8-tetrahydrochromone (1), (5R,6S,7R,8R)-8-chloro-5-ethoxy-6,7-dihydroxy-2-(2- phenylethyl)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydrochromone (2), (5S,6R,7S,8R)-5,8-dichloro-6,7- dihydroxy-2-[2-(4'-methoxyphenyl)ethyl]-5,6,7,8-tetrahydrochromone (3), and 28 known analogues (4-31) were isolated from the stems of Aquilaria sinensis. Their structures were characterized by the spectroscopic methods, and the absolute configuration was resolved by circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy. Bioactivity evaluation indicated that compounds 3-8 had significant inhibition effect in the production of NO in an inflammatory cell model with relatively lower IC values of 5.

Methods And Results: To investigate the effects of dietary supplementation with alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) on testosterone production in aged breeder roosters and understand the underlying molecular mechanisms involved. An in vivo model is established to investigate the effects of dietary ALA supplementation on testosterone production in aged breeder roosters, and the Leydig cell culture is used to identify the potential molecular mechanism.

Phlorotannin Alleviates Liver Injury by Regulating Redox Balance, Apoptosis, and Ferroptosis of Broilers under Heat Stress.

Heat stress (HS) poses a great challenge to the poultry industry by inducing oxidative damage to the liver, endangering the health and production of broilers. As an important type of seaweed polyphenols, phlorotannin has been shown to have antioxidant properties. The present study evaluated the protective effects of dietary phlorotannin on HS-induced liver injury in broilers based on oxidative damage parameters.

Mutating a flexible region of the RSV F protein can stabilize the prefusion conformation.

The respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) fusion (F) glycoprotein is highly immunogenic in its prefusion (pre-F) conformation. However, the protein is unstable, and its conformation must be stabilized for it to function effectively as an immunogen in vaccines. We present a mutagenesis strategy to arrest the RSV F protein in its pre-F state by blocking localized changes in protein structure that accompany large-scale conformational rearrangements.

Endocrine-resistant ER+HER2- breast cancer (BC) is particularly aggressive and leads to poor clinical outcomes. Effective therapeutic strategies against endocrine-resistant BC remain elusive. Here, analysis of the RNA-sequencing data from ER+HER2- BC patients receiving neoadjuvant endocrine therapy and spatial transcriptomics analysis both show the downregulation of innate immune signaling sensing cytosolic DNA, which primarily occurs in endocrine-resistant BC cells, not immune cells.

Guanzhong urban agglomeration has a good development foundation and great development potential, and it has a unique strategic position in the national all-round opening up pattern. In recent years, the problem of near-surface ozone （O） in the Guanzhong Region has become increasingly prominent, which has become a bottleneck affecting the continuous improvement of air quality. In order to effectively prevent and control O pollution, this study analyzed the characteristics of annual, monthly, and daily changes in O concentration in the Guanzhong Region based on the environmental monitoring data from 2018 to 2021.

[Idiopathic hypersomnia: a kind of sleep disorder that cannot be ignored].

Idiopathic hypersomnia(IH) is a chronic central disorders of hypersomnolence that manifests as excessive daytime sleepiness occurring despite normal or prolonged sleep time. Due to the individual heterogeneity of disease, the high overlap of clinical, poor repeatability of polysomnography monitoring results and the lack of clear disease biomarkers, clinical diagnosis and differential diagnosis are still difficult. This article summarizes the update of diagnostic criteria, clinical manifestations, diagnosis and treatment strategies of IH, in order to receive attention, increase the recognition rate of clinical diagnosis, reduce the misdiagnosis rate and missed diagnosis rate.

Background: Pancreatic cancer (PC) is associated with some of the worst prognoses of all major cancers. Thymoquinone (TQ) has a long history in traditional medical practice and is known for its anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, anti-fibrosis and antioxidant pharmacological activities. Recent studies on hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) and PC have shown that HIF-1α affects the occurrence and development of PC in many aspects.

Cardiovascular events of Bruton's tyrosine kinase inhibitors: A real-world study based on the United States Food and Drug Administration Adverse Event Reporting System database.

Aims: Bruton's tyrosine kinase inhibitors (BTKIs), including first-generation ibrutinib, second-generation acalabrutinib and zanubrutinib, may be involved in the mechanisms of action related to adverse events (AEs) of the cardiovascular system. We aimed to characterize the cardiovascular AEs of BTKIs reported in the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Adverse Event Reporting System, and to compare the cardiovascular risks of BTKIs.

Methods: Across all indications of three FDA-approved BTKIs, primary suspect drugs were extracted over two periods: from January 2013 to December 2022 (after the approval of the first BTKI), and from January 2020 to December 2022 (all three BTKIs on the market).

Phytochemical investigation on the extract of endophytic fungus Tolypocladium sp. SHJJ1 resulted in the identification of a pair of previously undescribed pyridoxatin atropisomers [1 (M/P)] and three new indole diterpenoids (3-5), together with a pair of known pyridoxatin atropisomers [2 (M/P)] and ten known indole diterpenoids (6-15). Their structures, including their absolute configurations were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic analysis, quantum chemical calculations, and X-ray diffraction.

[Water-soluble Inorganic Ion Content of PM and Its Change Characteristics in Urban Area of Beijing in 2022].

To explore the content and variation characteristics of water-soluble ions of atmospheric fine particles (PM) in a Beijing urban area and put forward the pollution prevention and control scheme, the water-soluble ions, gaseous precursors (SO, NO), and meteorological factors (temperature, RH) of PM in 2022 were analyzed and determined. The results showed that the water-soluble ions with the highest proportion in PM in the Beijing City urban area were NO, NH, and SO, accounting for 52.7% of PM.

Design of hepadnavirus core protein-based chimeric virus-like particles carrying epitopes from respiratory syncytial virus.

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is one of the most important pathogens causing respiratory tract infection in humans, especially in infants and the elderly. The identification and structural resolution of the potent neutralizing epitopes on RSV fusion (F) protein enable an "epitope-focused" vaccine design. However, the display of RSV F epitope II on the surface of the widely-used human hepatitis B virus core antigen (HBcAg) has failed to induce neutralizing antibody response in mice.

[The clinical significance of lateral pelvic sentinel lymph node biopsy using indocyanine green fluorescence navigation in laparoscopic lateral pelvic lymph node dissection].

This study aims to explore the clinical significance of lateral pelvic sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) using indocyanine green (ICG) fluorescence navigation in laparoscopic lateral pelvic lymph node dissection (LLND) and evaluate the accuracy and feasibility of this technique to predict the status of lateral pelvic lymph nodes (LPLNs). The clinical and pathological characteristics, surgical outcomes, lymph node findings and perioperative complications of 16 rectal cancer patients who underwent SLNB using ICG fluorescence navigation in laparoscopic LLND in the Cancer Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College during April 2017 and October 2022 were retrospectively collected and analyzed. The patients did not receive preoperative neoadjuvant radiotherapy and presented with LPLNs but without LPLN enlargement (MRI showed the maximum short axes of the LPLNs were ≥5 mm and <10 mm at first visit).

Network meta-analysis of the efficacy and safety of monoclonal antibodies and traditional conventional dichotomous agents for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Introduction: Monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) against cytokines and chemokines or their receptors promise to be a potential therapeutic option to address chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). We aim to provide a comprehensive literature review of the improvement in FEV1 and safety when comparing mAbs with conventional dichotomous agents.

Methods: We systematically searched 3 electronic databases (PubMed, EMBASE, and CENTRAL) up to August 1, 2023 to collect eligible randomized controlled trials (RCTs).
