The dynamics of tubulin are crucial in maintaining ocular homeostasis, closely linked to cellular proliferation and angiogenesis. Elucidating the molecular mechanisms driving this process is vital for formulating effective therapeutic strategies.

While incorporation of comonomers that generate backbone radicals under certain conditions can induce degradation of the polymer chain, such strategies yield complex oligomer mixtures. Here we report aromatization-driven C-C bond cleavage as a viable and powerful strategy to endow the degradability into carbon backbones using acrylic polymers as a model example.

Methods: We utilized microarray analysis to delineate gene expression patterns among 32 healthy controls and 87 AP patients stratified by severity. Employing SAP models and NOX2-deficient cells, we investigated the molecular underpinnings of ferroptosis.
C-N axially chiral compounds represent an important class of atropisomers that are prevalent in bioactive and material molecules. Despite recent advances in synthetic methodologies, the asymmetric construction of atropisomers featuring multiple C-N axes has been rarely explored, significantly limiting their further applications. Herein, we report a novel atroposelective synthesis of diaxially chiral pyridoindolones featuring both six-five and six-six C-N axes through cobalt-catalyzed asymmetric C-H annulation.

Despite the clinical relevance of ORR, the role of mechanosensitive ion channels in PDLC-mediated ORR and the underlying mechanisms regulating inflammatory cell recruitment remain poorly understood. Here, we identified PIEZO1 as a critical mechanosensitive ion channel that modulates monocyte recruitment and ORR.

Background: Intraoperative determination of resection margin and adequate residual liver parenchyma are the key points of hepatectomy for the treatment of liver tumors. Intraoperative ultrasound and indocyanine green fluorescence navigation are the most commonly used methods at present, but the technical barriers limit their promotion.
Aim: To evaluate the value of the three-dimensional location approach with silk thread (3D-LAST) in precise resection of liver tumors.
Background: The cancer treatments that target tumor associated angiogenesis (TAA) induced by vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGFA) have become valued. Ginsenoside Rh2 has been proved to inhibit TAA through VEGFA. However, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear.

Methods: A systematic search was conducted in PubMed, Medline, Embase, Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI), and Wanfang database for prospective or retrospective studies comparing the efficacy of AR and NAR in, ICC published to 1 June 2024.
Purpose: To evaluate the safety and efficacy of I seed strand combined with percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage (PTBD) and hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) for unresectable Bismuth-Corlette III and IV stage hilar cholangiocarcinoma (HCCA).
Methods: From January 2018 to December 2021, a total of 128 Bismuth-Corlette III and IV stage HCCA patients with obstructive jaundice were included in this single-center retrospective study. Forty-eight patients underwent I seed strand combined with PTBD and HAIC (group A).
Objective: This study aimed to determine the repeatable effect of acupotomy on specific acupoints of paralyzed limbs in stroke patients with hemiplegia, using musculoskeletal ultrasound combined with acupuncture.
Methods: 102 patients with limb motor dysfunction post-cerebral stroke were randomly divided into two groups: the treatment group (T group) received ultrasound-guided acupotomy plus a basic treatment regimen (51 patients) and the control (C) group underwent the basic treatment regimen (51 patients) over 4 weeks, with a 6-month follow-up period. The T group was treated with ultrasound-guided acupotomy on the first day.
To explore the mechanisms and clinical manifestations of disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) caused by exertional heat stroke. Analyze the clinical data of a patient with exertional heat stroke in Yichang Central People's Hospital and review relevant literature to evaluate the association between heat stroke and DIC, summarizing clinical presentations and laboratory findings. The patient exhibited symptoms such as high fever and altered consciousness after engaging in intense labor in a high-temperature environment.

The neuronal death and motor dysfunction resulting from CIS are primarily attributed to the induction of PARthanatos in neurons at the site of ischemia. Blocking parthanatos is a promising treatment for CIS.

Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) and its composite materials have garnered widespread attention in the field of dental implantology due to their good biocompatibility, mechanical properties, and corrosion resistance. The low elastic modulus of PEEK, comparable to that of human jawbone, helps to reduce the stress shielding effect around the implant, thereby enhancing the rate of bone integration. This article reviews the latest research progress of PEEK and its composite materials in the field of dental implantation, including the synthesis of materials, surface modification techniques, and applications in implant-abutment-crown complexes and full-arch denture bridges.

Herein, we present the design and synthesis of a dicopper-paddle-wheel-based metal-organic framework (termed JNU-5-Me) with a carboxylate-azolate organic linker. The use of such a linker results in the axial positions of the dicopper paddle wheels being occupied by azolates, and therefore, a much-improved chemical stability of the framework structure.

Ion channels, crucial determinants of cellular electrochemical gradient modulation, have emerged as significant participants in the pathophysiological progression of PH. These channels, abundant on the membranes of pulmonary artery smooth muscle cells (PASMCs) and pulmonary artery endothelial cells (PAECs), pivotally navigate the nuanced interplay of cell proliferation, migration, and endothelial function, each vital to the pulmonary vascular remodeling (PVR) hallmark of PH.

Our findings indicate that when the AlScN layer is negatively polarized by an external bias by the third terminal, the fixed polarization positive charges at the AlScN/p-GaN interface can enhance hole injection efficiency by modulating the energy band in the p-type region near the AlScN layer. The modulation does not deteriorate the electron injection and the optical field confinement, thus effectively increasing the stimulated recombination rate in the active region.
