Background: Early neurological deterioration (END) is associated with a poor prognosis in acute ischemic stroke (AIS). Effectively lowering low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) can improve the stability of atherosclerotic plaque and reduce post-stroke inflammation, which may be an effective means to lower the incidence of END. The objective of this study was to determine the preventive effects of evolocumab on END in patients with non-cardiogenic AIS.

However, a comprehensive understanding of their clonal landscape and dynamics remains elusive. Here we introduce scAtlasVAE, a deep-learning-based model for the integration of large-scale single-cell RNA sequencing data and cross-atlas comparisons.

However, conventional emulsifiers are unreactive and poorly dispersed in water, necessitating large dosages and resulting in poor injectivity. In this study, we synthesized amphiphilic nanoparticles (SiO-NH-DAC NPs) containing amine and long-chain alkyl groups using a one-pot method and investigated the stabilized emulsion properties.

Herein, we describe a safe, reliable, and cost-effective lateral decubitus traction assembly.

Here, we describe our development of the method we call HARD-AP that robustly retrieves RBPs and tightly associated RNA regulatory complexes from cultured cells and fresh tissues. We successfully use HARD-AP to establish a comprehensive atlas of RBPs across mouse primary organs.

Methods: This retrospective study included immunotherapy-treated advanced HCC patients from 52 multi-national in-house centers between 2018 and 2022. A multi-modal prognostic model using baseline and the first follow-up CT images and 7 clinical variables was proposed.
Purpose: To investigate the relationship between visual prognosis and genotype in patients undergoing lens surgery for congenital ectopia lentis (EL).
Design: Prospective clinical cohort study.
Methods: Patients with congenital EL who underwent lens removal and intraocular lens implantation received panel-based next-generation sequencing.
Background: Stroke etiology could influence the outcomes in patients with basilar-artery occlusion (BAO). This study aimed to evaluate the differences in efficacy and safety of best medical treatment (BMT) plus endovascular treatment (EVT) versus BMT alone in acute BAO across different stroke etiologies.
Methods: The study was a post hoc analysis of the ATTENTION trial (Trial of Endovascular Treatment of Acute Basilar-Artery Occlusion), which was a multicenter, randomized trial at 36 centers in China from February 2021 to September 2022.
Background: Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is an emerging major unmet need and one of the most significant clinic challenges in cardiology. The pathogenesis of HFpEF is associated with multiple risk factors. Hypertension and metabolic disorders associated with obesity are the 2 most prominent comorbidities observed in patients with HFpEF.

However, the impact of HRD and related therapies on the tumor microenvironment (TME) remains elusive. Our study generates single-cell gene expression and T cell receptor profiles, along with validatory multimodal datasets from >100 high-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) samples, primarily from a phase II clinical trial (NCT04507841).

Utilizing cement-based materials for efficient energy storage is one of the most promising strategies for realizing zero-energy buildings. However, cement-based materials encounter challenges in achieving excellent electrochemical performance without compromising mechanical properties.

Clopidogrel and prasugrel, belonging to the thienopyridine class of antiplatelet drugs, are known for their variability in individual responsiveness and high incidence of bleeding events, respectively. The present study is centered on the development and assessment of a range of deuterated thienopyridine derivatives, leveraging insights from structure-pharmacokinetic relationships of clopidogrel and prasugrel.

These results indicate that coordination of DMAc ligands to the Li-Cl ion pair results in the formation of a series of Li(DMAc)Cl (x = 1, 2; y = 1, 2, 3, 4; z = 1, 2) complexes. Analysis of interaction between DMAc ligand and Li center indicate that Li bond plays a major role for the formation of these Li(DMAc)Cl complexes.

Methods: This was a multicenter, open-label, single-arm, phase II study.
Aims: To explore the correlation between visceral adipose tissue and albuminuria, and whether there is interaction between visceral adipose tissue and diabetes on albuminuria.
Methods: The study subjects were adult subjects (age ≥ 18 years) from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (NHANES) database of the USA in 2017-2018. Visceral fat area (VFA) was measured by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA).
Background: Mitochondrial DNA copy number (mtDNA-CN) is associated with the severity and mortality in patients with stroke, but the associations in different stroke subtypes remain unexplored.
Methods: We conducted an observational prospective cohort analysis on patients with ischemic stroke or transient ischemic attack enrolled in the Third China National Stroke Registry. We applied logistic models to assess the association of mtDNA-CN with functional outcome (modified Rankin Scale score, 3-6 versus 0-2) and Cox proportional hazard models to assess the association with stroke recurrence (treating mortality as a competing risk) and mortality during a 12-month follow-up, adjusting for sex, age, physical activity, National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale at admission, history of stroke and peripheral artery disease, small artery occlusion, and interleukin-6.
Background: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is one of the leading causes of mortality worldwide, and therefore the identification of the modifiable risk factors [such as exposure to vapors, gases, dust and fumes (VGDF)] for accelerate disease progression has important significance.
Methods: We conducted COPD surveillance in six cities of southern China between 2014 and 2019. We recorded the diagnosis of chronic bronchitis, respiratory symptoms, occupational exposure to VGDF and other covariates by using a structured questionnaire.
Employing all-inorganic perovskites as light harvesters has recently drawn increasing attention owing to the strong-bonded inorganic components in the crystal. To achieve the systematic and comprehensive understanding for the structures and properties of Cs(Pb/Sn)X (X = F, Cl, Br, I) perovskites, this work provides the comparison details about crystal structures, optical properties, electronic structures and power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 18 perovskites. The suitable band gaps are detected in CsSnCl-3̅ (0.
