Functionalized hexagonal boron nitride nanosheets (BNNSs) have arisen as compelling anticorrosive additives, yet the precise mechanism of their corrosion resistance enhancement in coatings remains unclear. Here, polyethylenimine functionalized BNNSs (PEI-BNNSs) with approximately 6-11 layers were prepared through a "one-step" method. Then, the PEI-BNNSs/Waterborne epoxy (WEP) composite coatings were incorporated via the waterborne latex blending method for the anticorrosion of the Q235 substrate.

Despite recent advances in single-cell genomics, the lack of maps for single-cell candidate cis-regulatory elements (cCREs) in non-mammal species has limited our exploration of conserved regulatory programs across vertebrates and invertebrates. Here, we developed a combinatorial-hybridization-based method for single-cell assay for transposase-accessible chromatin using sequencing (scATAC-seq) named CH-ATAC-seq, enabling the construction of single-cell accessible chromatin landscapes for zebrafish, Drosophila, and earthworms (Eisenia andrei). By integrating scATAC censuses of humans, monkeys, and mice, we systematically identified 152 distinct main cell types and around 0.

Aims: A therapeutic strategy for chronic heart failure (HF) is to lower resting heart rate (HR). Ivabradine is a well-known HR-lowering agent, but limited prospective data exist regarding its use in Chinese patients. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of ivabradine in Chinese patients with chronic HF.

The genomic origin and development of the biphasic lung adenosquamous carcinoma (ASC) remain inconclusive. Here, we derived potential evolutionary trajectory of ASC through whole-exome sequencing, Stereo-seq, and patient-derived xenografts. We showed that EGFR and MET activating mutations were the main drivers in ASCs.

Background Microwave ablation (MWA) has achieved favorable results in the treatment of papillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTMC) confined in glandular parenchyma. However, studies on the outcome of MWA for PTMC with US-detected capsular invasion remain unclarified in the literature. Purpose To compare the feasibility, effectiveness, and safety of MWA in the treatment of PTMC with and without US-detected capsular invasion.

As one of the most commonly used Chinese medicine formula in the manage of respiratory diseases, Maxing Ganshi Decoction (MGD) has been demonstrated to improve the clinical symptoms of pneumonia. To evaluate the efficacy and safety of MGD in treating children with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP), we conducted the clinical trial. A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicenter trial was conducted in 3 study sites in Tianjin, China.

comprises phenotypically diverse species, which impact biotechnology, the indoor environment and human health. Recent studies showed that most of the traditionally defined genera in are highly polyphyletic. Many of these morphology-based genera, such as , and , have been redefined using multigene phylogenetic analysis combined with morphology; however, a comprehensive taxonomic overview of the family is lacking.

The continuous emergence of SARS-CoV-2 variants highlights the need of developing vaccines with broad protection. Here, according to the immune-escape capability and evolutionary convergence, the representative SARS-CoV-2 strains carrying the hotspot mutations were selected. Then, guided by structural and computational analyses, we present a mutation-integrated trimeric form of spike receptor-binding domain (mutI-tri-RBD) as a broadly protective vaccine candidate, which combined heterologous RBDs from different representative strains into a hybrid immunogen and integrated immune-escape hotspots into a single antigen.

Background: Calsequestrins (Casqs), comprising the Casq1 and Casq2 isoforms, buffer Ca and regulate its release in the sarcoplasmic reticulum of skeletal and cardiac muscle, respectively. Human inherited diseases associated with mutations in or include malignant hyperthermia/environmental heat stroke (MH/EHS) and catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia. However, patients with an MH/EHS event often experience arrhythmia for which the underlying mechanism remains unknown.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Wenshen Zhuanggu Formula (WSZG) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) prescription used in clinics for adjuvant treatment of breast cancer bone metastases in Longhua Hospital in China. WSZG has been reported to decrease the risk of bone metastases and alleviate the severity of bone lesions in a breast cancer xenograft model.

Aim Of The Study: The present study aimed at investigating the pharmacokinetic behaviors of six coumarins in normal and breast cancer bone-metastatic mice following oral administration of WSZG extract.

Canagliflozin is a novel, orally selective inhibitor of sodium-dependent glucose co-transporter-2 (SGLT2) for the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. In this study, a sensitive and efficient UPLC-MS/MS method for the quantification of canagliflozin and its metabolites in rat plasma was established and applied to pharmacokinetics in a type 2 diabetic rat model. We firstly investigated the pharmacokinetic changes of canagliflozin and its metabolites in type 2 diabetic rats in order to use canagliflozin more safely, reasonably and effectively.

We have investigated the wavefunction instabilities in the reaction between a metal cluster Al(13)(-) and a simple molecule HI. This work shows that Hartree-Fock instability problems are appreciably responsible for the reported discrepancy between density functional and coupled-cluster results.
