To study the effects of the time points of pre-competition peaking (TPCP, the time point when an athlete's peaking shows up before a major-competition) on the athletes' performances in the major-competition (M-Performance). Mixed design. We used cluster analysis to classify 892 elite track and field athletes who participated in the 2017 and 2019 IAAF World Championships in Athletics, based on their TPCP and other related factors.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to explore how a structured moderate-intensity resistance exercise program affects blood glucose levels and health indicators in patients with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM).
  • Ninety-nine GDM patients were divided into an experimental group (which added exercise to routine care) and a control group (which only received standard care).
  • Results showed that the experimental group had significantly lower blood glucose levels, insulin usage, and gestational weight gain, indicating the effectiveness of exercise in managing GDM, though both groups had similar rates of adverse pregnancy outcomes.

Hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) are the major producers of collagen in the liver. Their conversion from resting cells to proliferative, contractile, and activated cells is a critical step leading to liver fibrosis that is characterized by the deposition of excessive extracellular matrix. Interleukin-1 (IL-1) may play a role in maintaining HSC in a proliferative state that is responsible for hepatic fibrogenesis.

A chemiluminescence (CL) method was developed for the evaluation of oxidative damage to biomolecules induced by singlet oxygen ((1)O(2)) and for the evaluation of the protective effects of antioxidants. The (1)O(2) was generated from the reaction of H(2)O(2)+OCl(-). Results showed that the CL signal from the reaction of H(2)O(2)+OCl(-) was weak, however, it was enhanced dose-dependently with the addition of DNA and unsaturated fatty acid, respectively.
