[Coexistence of colloid cyst of the third ventricle with pituitary dwarfism in a female aged 16].

A 16-year-old patient with pituitary dwarfism is reported, in whom a colloid cyst was found in the III ventricle. The authors believe that pituitary disorder and colloid cyst were a result of developmental anomalies manifesting themselves at various times.

[Treatment of skull defects by using plastic material "Codubix"].

Early and late results of surgical treatment of cranial vault defects with Codubix prosthesis in 46 cases are presented. Early after the operation purulent complications were not observed. In the period 1976-1989 in the Neurosurgery Department, Province Hospital in Rzeszów 130 patients were treated for CSF rhinorrhoea and 104 of them were treated surgically. Out of these 104 patients 6 died after the operation because of purulent complications and severe brain injury following extensive open fractures of the anterior cranial fossa. The follow-up examinations are performed 1 to 13 years after the operation and conservative treatment.

[Reoperations in lumbar discopathies].

In the years 1976-1990 at the Neurosurgery Centre in Rzeszów 938 patients were treated surgically for lumbar discopathy. Reoperation was necessary in 5.4% of cases.

[Assessment of surgical-orthopaedic management in craniofacial injuries complicated with nasal liquorrhoea].

On the basis of experiences during 10 years with the cooperation of the departments of neurosurgery and maxillofacial surgery in the Province Hospital in Rzeszów the methods of surgical-orthopaedic management were assessed in craniofacial injuries. Out of 95 cases of craniofacial injuries treated in the years 1976-1985, in 42 cases (44.2%) nasal liquorrohea was present.
