[Primary multiple cancer of both lungs].

The study summarizes the experience gained in the treatment of 46 cases of bilateral primary multiple cancer of the lung (synchronous cancer--17 and metachronous--29). Criteria for establishing primary multiple cancer and choice of treatment procedure are suggested. Surgery for bilateral cancer was carried out in 15 cases (metachronous tumor--11; synchronous--4).

[Lentiginous melanocytic dysplasia as a precursor of malignant melanoma].

Precursors of malignant melanoma are special pigment spots characterized by proliferation of atypical melanocytes accompanied by reactive lymphoplasmocytic infiltration of the derma designated as lentiginous melanocytic dysplasia (LMD), a variant of Dubreuilh melanosis. The material of the study of 53 cases of LMD and the time course of its progress suggest LMD to be not a distinct nosological entity but the beginning of the development of malignant melanoma.

[Early thyroid gland cancer].

Among 338 patients operated upon for "nodes" in the thyroid in 31.4% of cases there was found small cancer (up to 1 cm in diameter), determined microscopically and visually. A clinico-morphological definition of early thyroid cancer is suggested.

[Early and "latent" breast cancer].

The results of microscopic study of the material obtained from 71 cases of clinically-occult cancer of the breast are reported. Generally, metastases into axillary lymph nodes are primary clinical manifestations. A histological description of dysplasia and preinvasive cancer of the breast is presented.
