A 60-year-old man presented with a thoracic aortic aneurysm without rupture accompanied by severe nonrheumatic aortic valve insufficiency and unstable angina. Surgery was performed and included several steps: (1) resection and reconstruction of ascending aorta and aortic arch using a tube graft, (2) replacement of aortic valve using a biological prosthesis, and (3) coronary artery bypass grafting was performed with two distal anastomoses. All of these procedures were performed with total cardiopulmonary bypass without deep hypothermic circulatory arrest under conditions of moderate hypothermia using dual concurrent cannulation of the subclavian and femoral arteries.

THE GOAL OF THIS STUDY: description of morphogenesis aortic valve stenosis in the senile and vice atherosclerotic aortic valve and definition inflammatory processes in them, improving pathology-anatomic diagnostic, macro- and microscopic examination of the stage of development of atherosclerotic plaques in the operating material fragments of aortic valve on the basis of morphological (histochemical and immunohistochemical studies by using markers CD31, VEGF) and idiopathic characteristics of atherosclerotic plaques, the differential diagnosis of the degree of calcification of the aortic valve in the atherogenic and idiopathic aortic stenosis. Calcification in senile aortic stenosis is characterized by three main parameters: infiltration of inflammatory cells, while senile origin stenosis observed the potential growth of angiogenesis. In endothelial walls of the aortic valve imunnhistochemicaly revealed high expression of endothelial and panendothelial growth factors.

Atrial myxomas are rare, usually benign, intracardiac tumors composed of mucopolysaccharides. Almost all myxomas are found attached to the endocardium in the atria with vast majority being on the left side and can be removed by surgical resection. Two rare cases of myxomas ablated from the left atrial cavity are presented.

Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) has been widely used for the treatment of patients with coronary artery disease. Patients with low ejection fraction (EF) are at a higher risk for postoperative complications and mortality. Our objective was to assess the effect of low EF on clinical outcomes of CABG.
