Iron, Earth's most abundant redox-active metal, undergoes both abiotic and microbial redox reactions that regulate the formation, transformation, and dissolution of iron minerals. The electron transfer between ferrous iron (Fe(II)) and ferric iron (Fe(III)) is critical for mineral dynamics, pollutant remediation, and global biogeochemical cycling. Bacteria play a significant role, especially in anaerobic Fe(II) oxidation, contributing to Fe(III) mineral formation in oxygen-depleted environments.

Antimicrobial properties of C. speciosus against standard bacterial strains have been reported before, however, complementary in vivo investigations, as well as, its antimicrobial activity against multi drug-resistant (MDR) bacteria are insufficient, if not lacking.

Constitutively activated STAT3 plays a pivotal role in holding cancer stemness of HCC CSCs, which are essential for hepatoma initiation, relapse, metastasis and drug resistance. Therefore, STAT3 has been validated as a novel anti-cancer drug target and the strategies targeting HCC CSCs may bring new hopes to HCC therapy.

Background: 2-Methoxystypandrone (2-MS), isolated from the roots of Polygonum cuspidatum, is a potent dual inhibitor of the STAT3 and NF-κB pathways.
Objective: To investigate the molecular targets and mechanisms of 2-MS.
Method: A biotin-conjugated 2-MS analog, named 2-MS-Biotin, was designed and synthesized.
This paper introduces a set of methods for image and video forensic analysis. They were designed to help to assess image and video credibility and origin and to restore and increase image quality by diminishing unwanted blur, noise, and other possible artifacts. The motivation came from the best practices used in the criminal investigation utilizing images and/or videos.
