Background: We aimed to investigate effect of radiotherapy (RT) applications with different dose rates on cytogenetic damages, which focused on micronucleus (MN) formation, and evaluate how this damage varies by cisplatin in rats receiving head-neck RT.

Material And Methods: Thirty-six Sprague Dawley rats were divided into five groups. The first and second groups were irradiated at a dose rate of 300 monitor unit/minute (MU/min) and 600 MU/min, respectively.

Anticancer drug paclitaxel (PTX) frequently causes painful peripheral neuropathy; however, no medication has been shown to be effective in the treatment of this debilitating side effect. We aimed to investigate the efficacy of two different doses of allogeneic bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BM-MSCs) on PTX-induced mechanical allodynia and spinal cytokine levels and their localization to target tissues such as the spinal cord and sciatic nerve. After the development of mechanical allodynia with repeated PTX administration, two different doses of rat BM-MSCs, low or high (1 × 10 -5 × 10 ), were transplanted into rats and the evaluation continued for 30 days.

Experimental evidence indicated that bacterial pyruvate kinase of glycolysis can be evaluated as an alternative target to eliminate infections, while antibiotic resistance poses a global threat. Here, we use a computational workflow to reveal and investigate the potential allosteric sites of methicillin-resistant PK, which can help in designing species-specific drugs to inhibit activity of this organism. Residue interaction networks point to a known allosteric site at the small C-C interface, a potential allosteric site near the small interface (site #1), and a second potential allosteric site at the large interface (site #2).

The aim of this work is to clarify the effect of curcumin and beta-carotene on cisplatin-induced tissue damage and to demonstrate the potential of Raman spectroscopy to detect tissue changes consistent with liver and kidney histopathology as a potential diagnostic adjunct. İn the study, 56 Wistar albino female rats were used and randomly divided into 7 groups (n:8). Sham group received only sesame oil; Cisplatin group, received a single dose injection of cisplatin; Beta-carotene group, treated with beta-carotene orally; Cisplatin + Beta-carotene group, pretreated with beta-carotene 30 min prior to the cisplatin injection, then received cisplatin; Curcumin group, orally treated with curcumin; Cisplatin + Curcumin group, pretreated with curcumin 30min prior to the cisplatin injection, then received cisplatin.

In this study, we evaluated the effect of boron (B) as boric acid (BA) on body weight (b.w.); blood glucose; plasma insulin; lipase and paraoxonase (PON1) activities; and serum triglyceride, total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein (HDL) and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, lipid peroxidation (MDA), and total antioxidant capacity (TAC) in streptozotocin (STZ)-induced experimental diabetes in rats.
