Partnership Between a Federal Agency and 4 Tribal Nations to Improve COVID-19 Response Capacities.

Upon request from tribal nations, and as part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC's) emergency response, CDC staff provided both remote and on-site assistance to tribes to plan, prepare, and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. From April 2, 2020, through June 11, 2021, CDC deployed a total of 275 staff to assist 29 tribal nations. CDC staff typically collaborated in multiple work areas including epidemiology and surveillance (86%), contact tracing (76%), infection prevention control (72%), community mitigation (72%), health communication (66%), incident command structure (55%), emergency preparedness (38%), and worker safety (31%).

Integrative development of a short screening questionnaire of highly processed food consumption (sQ-HPF).

Background: Recent lifestyle changes include increased consumption of highly processed foods (HPF), which has been associated with an increased risk of non-communicable diseases (NCDs). However, nutritional information relies on the estimation of HPF consumption from food-frequency questionnaires (FFQ) that are not explicitly developed for this purpose. We aimed to develop a short screening questionnaire of HPF consumption (sQ-HPF) that integrates criteria from the existing food classification systems.

Nature of fiber-coupled detector responsivity measurements at 0.1% using a primary standard.

We demonstrate the capability to measure the absolute power responsivity of optical fiber-coupled detectors at an expanded uncertainty of 0.1%, by direct comparison with a cryogenic primary standard. This may result in delay in recognizing and responding appropriately to asthma symptoms. The purpose was to conduct focus groups among Puerto Rican children with asthma on communication with their health care provider about their asthma symptoms.
