As autonomous driving attracts more and more attention these days, the algorithms and sensors used for machine perception become popular in research, as well. This paper investigates the extrinsic calibration of two frequently-applied sensors: the camera and Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR). The calibration can be done with the help of ordinary boxes.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFunctional genomic elements are marked by characteristic DNA and histone modification signatures. How combinatorial chromatin modification states are recognized by epigenetic reader proteins and how this is linked to their biological function is largely unknown. Here we provide a detailed molecular analysis of chromatin recognition by the lysine demethylase KDM2A.

Case: This is a report on the coexistence of a uterine adenomatoid tumor and an endometrial adenocarcinoma, both chance findings in a 41-year-old woman undergoing hysterectomy because of a preoperative diagnosis of metrorrhagia due to leiomyomas.
Conclusion: Although uterine adenomatoid tumors are believed to be rare, they may pose a differential diagnostic problem in the pathologic staging of endometrial carcinomas, because they form gland-like lumina and infiltrate the myometrium.
In an earlier experiment we found that 1-nitropyrene treatment causes an increase in the expression of certain onco/suppressor genes in different organs of CBA/Ca mice. In order to further study the kinetics and significance of these gene expression changes, we determined the effect of 1-nitropyrene treatment on the expression of c-myc, p53, Ha-ras, N-ras, and Ki-ras genes, 24 hours after treatment. Expression of the ras family did not change during the studied interval, while elevated expression of c-myc and p53 genes was observed in the spleen, bone marrow and lymph nodes (only c-myc in the latter).
